Keeping up a constant front in a ceaseless struggle to measure up to perfection can be hard work.

The task of protector was one that Candace assumed very early in her life, fully willing to undergo whatever it might require of her. It's not always killer robots or hunting down food to stave off starvation, though. Sometimes, a protector's services are needed... in ways a little closer to home.

There is a significant difference between being willing to do anything, and being capable of doing anything. Unfortunately, this distinction is not always immediately visible. Sometimes, Candace finds to easy to forget that.

However, no experience is without an effect on those who endure it - and these effects may linger long after the experience itself has become a part of the past. And for some people, time's passage is just a means of measuring how much time is left until their meticulously planned future comes fully to pass. But when even time travel can fail to accurately predict the future, what's to stop even the most carefully-laden of plans from falling apart?

As time passes and everyone grows older, the Mysterious Force that has dangled over Candace's head for her entire life shows no sign of relaxing it's eternal vigil. Just what is this strange series of coincidences that has been following her around ever since her birth? Well, no one seems to know. It's called the 'Mysterious' Force for a reason, after all.

A story based on The Last Day of Summer: an alternate turn of events that occurs after Doofenshmirtz destroys the Do-Over-Inator and moves out of the Tri-State Area in his efforts to give up evil; leaving Candace as the only person in the whole city who remembers the two brothers that she used to have.
