Hi. I'm Jonathan. I love pokemon and I need to get this story out of me.

I'm writing Pokemon: Rise, which is about a guy who hates pokemon being forced into becoming a trainer with elements of nuzlockes incorporated into a corrupt island of my creation hosting the Ilragorn League, the nefarious Team Anonymous run by Sir, and a host of dangerous trainers and pokemon alike. My story doesn't feature "shipping" anime characters together purely for the sake of fanservice and it doesn't have a Lucario, Charizard, Pikachu, Greninja, or Eevee in it and none of my characters transform into pokemon. What my story does have is a well crafted plot that will keep you on your toes wondering which pokemon will make it out alive by the end, have you going "wow, that was pretty creative and smart" toward the protagonist during many a battles, and gym matches that are actually challenging and vivid and brutal and long.

I also really love Dragon Ball Z as I think that's one of the most epic tales I've ever read/viewed and I totally see some inspiration toward Akira Toriyama in my writing, especially with my incorporation of death throughout Rise so much, affecting even the key players.

Always on the lookout for other well-written material to inspire me in my own writing on here, it's worth sifting through some of the simpler stories to find those treasured epics with heart.
