Hey, I'm Akela.

I'm a teenager who's weird, sarcastic to the point of annoying, and convinced that the world revolves around her (spoiler alert: it does). I'd really like to become a professional writer or dancer, but I'm probably going to end up with my somewhat realistic ambition of becoming a doctor.

I guess when my world isn't revolving around me, it's revolving around music and books. I have a pretty wide taste in both, so my favourite song is Drops of Jupiter by Train, and my favourite book is Nightfall by Isaac Asimov. Both are likely to change in the next 24 hours or less.

A word of apology (or multiple words of explanation):

I joined this site when I was quite a bit younger (read: a naive idiot who didn't know what Tumblr was). I am now quite a bit older (read: a not-so-naive idiot), and my tastes have changed, as most carbon-based-bipedal-lifeforms-descended-from-apes' (human's) (if you got that reference, I love you) tastes do.

If you glance down at my stories, you'll probably come to the fairly obvious conclusion that I am obsessed with Percy Jackson (hint: there are eight freaking stories about PJO). While this was true a couple of years ago, I've kind of moved on now. Not to say that I don't still like the stories and that I won't read anything else Rick Riordan writes. But it's not an obsession anymore.

Still, I can't bring myself to delete those stories, even if I cringe at the clichéd-ness of them when I re-read them. So they're staying. But yeah, just please don't judge me by them. If I find the time and commitment to finish one of my current stories, then I'll post it.
