Author has written 13 stories for Black Jewels Trilogy, Avengers, Final Fantasy VII, and Doctor Who. Currently residing in the Midwest, but not for much longer. My day job consists of project management work and application design...a lot of time spent in SharePoint this past year and a half (and talking on the phone in endless meetings). Not so happy about the phones bit, but it was a good change from what I had been doing. Right now I've had to throw in training my replacement to the routine, which hasn't been easy in the current environment. But we manage. About me personally...I have more interests and hobbies than I have time for. For now, I focus mostly on writing and drawing, but there are so many others I could list (and it makes me sad that I don't have time to devote to all of the things I like doing). I'm almost constantly listening to music. As to the type- I would say the bulk of it is German contemporary rock/pop. So, bands like Selig, Die Toten Hosen, Voltaire, Tocotronic, Clueso, Silly, Tokio Hotel...yeah, I have a lot of German music. Don't get me wrong, I do love songs in English. I have plenty of that, too. Pretty much the only things I stay away from is Rap, most R&B and Country. Otherwise, I'm good to go. To talk a little more about writing...hmm. I have five major FanFiction projects at this time (more than I'd like to work on simultaneously, but it happens): 1. The Blood's Iron Will (Fandom: Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop): Set approximately 600 years after the end of the last vignette in Bishop's last book in the series, Twilight's Dawn, exploring what became of the territory of Hayll. Largely sticks to canon, but some AU elements. I've been working on it off and on since 2013. My oldest project- and new chapters are somewhat on the back-burner while I make revisions to the early ones. 2. The Illusion of Strength (Fandom: FFVII by Square Enix): Set a few years prior to the Crisis Core era of the FFVII compilation, following the story of the canon characters as well as a few OC's battle an organization bent on taking down Shinra. Mostly AU, but I kept it canon where possible. I started this one in early 2016, and have been working on it ever since. 3. Fate of a Fool (Fandom: Avengers by Marvel): Set two years after the first Avengers movie, exploring an alternate path that the Allfather chose in dealing with Loki after he failed to take over Midgard. Definitely AU in events and some of the MCU structure, but tried to maintain canon for character personalities. It sprang out of a one-shot I wrote for April Fool's Day in 2017, but didn't really start working on the series until September of 2017. 4. Of Gods and Time Lords (Fandoms: Avengers by Marvel; Doctor Who by BBC): Set about 5-6 years after the first Avengers movie & shortly after the Silence in the Library / Forest of the Dead episodes in Season 4 of Doctor Who. Explores what happens when the gods of Asgard cross paths with the Time Lords of Gallifrey. Mostly AU, but canon where I could manage it. Was meant to be a mini-series for Halloween and Christmas of 2018, but has turned into a much larger project. 5. Fatal Flaws (Fandom: Avengers by Marvel): Set four years after the first Avengers movie, chronicling the challenges faced by Stark and the rest of the Avengers- even gods like Thor and Loki- when a project to create a 'human' android actually succeeds. Mostly AU in terms of events, but canon character personalities with a minor tweak here and there. This is a reboot of my short story, "Only Human". In addition to the above series, below are the ones I have completed: 1. Forged Anew (Fandom: Avengers by Marvel): Set about 4-5 years after the first Avengers movie, altering the course of events after Loki was returned to Asgard by having him cross paths with an Asgardian woman who might just be the key in helping him discover a better life for himself. Like many of my other stories, AU in terms of events but mostly canon regarding character personalities. While it is technically complete, I am currently about 2/5 the way through revisions (you may notice a change in format between Chapter 21 and Chapter 22- that is where I've stopped thus far). And yes, I do have scribbled notes for ideas on both a prequel and sequel to that story. See also the companion story Patchwork Remnants, which is a series of side-stories that fit into the overall narrative of Forged Anew. 2. Wine and Fire / Only Human / When Victory isn't Enough / April's Fool / Lady and the Lush (Fandom: Avengers by Marvel): Various single-chapter stories that take place in various settings within the fandom. Most of them take place in the Tower, though at different points in time. AU aside from character personalities. Some of these will remain as they are- as 'one-and-done' stories. Others, though, have the potential to make it on my list to become longer series (this already happened in the case of April's Fool and Only Human). I can see a similar fate for Lady and the Lush- that language puzzle thing has potential. Maybe When Victory isn't Enough, too. I think the timeline on that one could be stretched backwards to the events before Loki left for Jotunheim. 3. Late Night with Reno (Fandom: FFVII by Square Enix): Set shortly after the events of Advent Children, spending a night with some of the Turks who have remained with Shinra (and one of their newer recruits). Primarily canon in nature. Right now, it's meant to stay a single-chapter story, but I may look into making it into something larger at some point in the future. Then there's my writing outside of the fanfiction world. I am writing my own original work- an idea that came to me what seems like a lifetime ago in 2003. Right now I'm still developing the world maps and overall framework to tell the story. I've written sketches of some scenes to play with dialogue between characters, but no solid chapters yet. It's been a long-term project, but I hope to get back to it once I've finished what I'm working on now. And I think that pretty much says enough about me. Go read my stuff. :) GENERAL UPDATE AS OF 7/13/20: Posting rotation for all active projects may get a little chaotic again, given the impending international move (just 60 more days!). Next chapter to post: Chapter 11 of Of Gods and Timelords. On deck: Chapter 16 of Fate of a Fool. Could be a revision for Chapter 9 of The Blood's Iron Will thrown in there, too. We'll see. Thanks to all who have stuck it out waiting. |
