Sym64 and Cokie316 are two people. Individuals. Who, truthfully have never even met in person. But…we just… sometimes… sort of… well, OK, we’re pretty much on the same wave length. Especially when it comes to Hawaii Five-0. We have been known to finish each other’s trains of thought in a fanfic or, as some have noted, it is like we share the same brain.

Well, knowing what sometimes goes on in my brain, I do pity Sam at times. :-)

But the thought was planted by a gracious reviewer (thank you, Ficreader) that instead of writing fanfic under both our names, that we form a partnership and have a “joint name” (hmmm… that sounds ominous in case one or both of us ever gets arrested… ) but we took the idea to heart. In fact, our emails pretty much crossed in the mail, saying “hey, what if…”

And what you see is the beginning of that partnership. Here is a little bit about the “Cokie” part. I wrote my first fanfic way back in the fifth grade and a friend found it and laughed, so I hid it and never told a soul that I wrote after that. Mostly, I just made notes and never finished stories because surely I was the only person who was zany enough to actually write fiction about TV shows. Right???

Sometime in the 80s, I was watching an episode of Simon & Simon and couldn’t wait to grab a pen and paper and begin writing. About the same time, there was an article in our newspaper about a person here in town who was writing Star Trek and Simon & Simon zines and I couldn’t believe there was *ONE* more person who was like me. Little did I know that there were a few more on the planet…

When I became interested in Hawaii Five-0, I checked fanfiction.net and there were 37 stories. Now there are 4.2K, so I would say this has definitely blossomed.

I write fanfic for personal enjoyment; because when I get a story idea, it has to come out. I am not satisfied unless I am researching or writing something. My hope is that you will enjoy these stories that will be presented to you by Sam and me.

Guess now it’s my turn to say something witty about myself? Yeah, right good luck with that. :-)

I’m not a native speaker, and so I was a bit reluctant to post anything in English. But all that changed with Five-0. I just had to write for it. There is no way to explain it, I just get an idea and I have to write it. But I could never do that in German, that would just feel wrong. So I went out and looked for someone to take a look at grammar and spelling. My first three stories were written with her going over it. But going back to them now, even I cringe at some of the mistakes still in it. If I ever find the time I will correct them.

Anyway, at some point I looked for someone else to help me out because it was clear I would not stop writing anytime soon. So, I asked if anyone would want to help me. And to all you guys out there who offered to help, again, thank you. Really, it was overwhelming how many people offered their help.

But there were two among them... I really couldn’t believe my luck. One of them was a very avid reviewer who had always encouraged me over the past months and had such kind words for me. I loved to have Sherry57 on board with me. And you have NO idea how much grammar that woman taught me. She is a great teacher, which she actually is in RL. None of my former teachers would believe it, but I always had fun at her sessions. Amazing.

And then I was literally jumping for joy. My favorite author wanted to help me. I was so giddy that I didn’t even know what to write her. My favorite author. Squeee. By the way, I still have those first emails. :-) (as do I. :-) )

And really it just clicked right away. I knew this was a perfect match.

Uh, I just realized... wasn’t this just supposed to be a few words? Sigh.

Anyway, here we are, having tons of fun. And the icing on the cake is that you the reader seem to enjoy it just as much as we do... Nah, I assure you, we enjoy it more. (I know you’re right about that!)
