Howdy, folks! I'm Roland Lowery, more commonly known on the internet as Jim North. I've been writing for . . . jeez, around 15 years now, ever since I was in high school. Though I've gone on to dabble in several other artistic modes of expression, writing has always been and will always be my first love, and no matter how long of a break I may take, I always come back to it eventually.

Likewise, fan fiction has always been a thoroughly enjoyable method of expression for me. I am perfectly capable of writing original fiction - and have, and still am - but dabbling in the settings of my favorite characters still holds a great deal of appeal to me. Just a casual glance at the list of fics below will show you that I started out primarily as a Sonic the Hedgehog guy, specifically targeting on stories revolving around Nack the Weasel.

Eventually I moved away from that and entered a depressingly long dry spell without really writing anything save for the occasional webcomic script, D&D campaign, or bitty whatzit for WoW. Then I went and joined the Daria fandom a few years back and found my muse again. And boy is she a chatty thing! So most everything I write fan fiction-wise is Daria related in some fashion, though I do plan on going back to Nack at some point.

And of course, I'm still trying to keep up writing original stuff. Working on another webcomic idea right now, in fact. Hopefully I'll manage to get somewhere with it . . . just need to find an artist once I've got enough written up to get things really rolling. But anyway!

I'd like to go ahead and thank everyone who reviews or even just comments on my stories. I try to reply to all of them, but rest assured that even if I don't, I still read each one and appreciate them greatly!

CURRENT PROJECTS

Training Day - Nack's "origin story," as it were, more fully fleshing out what happened right after he joined the hacker gang known as the Dackers. It was the last thing I was working on when I hit my big ol' dry spell, and if I ever go back to writing Sonic fics again, it's first on my list to get finished up.

Daria: Hunter - Infectious - The sixth story in the series. Daria and Jane are in a real spot of trouble with DENA HQ gets overtaken by a rather nasty menace. I kinda petered out on it after a while, unfortunately, and moved on to other fics . . . several other fics, to be honest. But I will be getting right back on it the second I can clear a spot in my schedule.

Psychopomp and Circumstance - A Daria fic starring Jane as a spirit being led to her final destination. Only just started on it really, so I've only got a little bit done, and it's kind of hit a back burner while I'm working on the next thing on tha list.

Screams of Silence - My massively epic Daria/Silent Hill crossover. Honestly, it's almost the size of a novel now (just 7,000 more words to hit the big 50K!), and there's still at least three or four chapters left to go. It's the most current of my current projects and the one I'm working like a dog trying to finish. And somewhat unexpectedly, it's also become my baby, taking the place of Sleepwalker as my favorite among my own fics. Check it out! DO IT NOOOOW!!!
