Scheherazade placates insomniac Robson shippers with tales of how Robbie and Laura might have gotten together. Each chapter is a separate story about what might have been, set prior to series 7. Chapter 7 is new!

This is how I want tomorrow's series finale to go. It's how I would do it based upon how they set it up. As a reminder, I don't own, don't make any money from them. I just like to improve on lackluster writing.

With only two episodes left in the series (most likely forever), here is how I want to see it end. No spoilers really, just my hope for the ending.

After nearly five years since she married Gary, is Miranda still living in a fairytale or has the bubble burst?

After leaving the White Horse pub in Ramblin' Boy, Robbie and Laura have no more secrets from each other. Robbie learns of Laura's first marriage… to a certain spin doctor from another series. This is essentially a Robson romance and not a proper cross-over, but knowledge of the Thick of It would enhance the reading. New chapters 3-7 will chronicle their further misadventures.

Lewis and Laura awake in the aftermath of an uncharacteristically reckless night out, four years after Val's death. Will it serve to catalyse their relationship or destroy their friendship forever? AU/departure from canon post series 1/2.

An insight into what you didn't see on-screen...

James Hathaway finds out who he really is when he meets with his birth mother as his past and present collide. This story includes a game of chess and some relevant Robbie and Laura moments.

Laura Hobson married her Prince Charming only discover he was neither Prince nor Charming. Years later her real Prince Charming, Robbie Lewis, swept her off her feet and they lived happily ever after. Until her ex husband in the form of none other than Malcolm Tucker returned to the enchanted kingdom. I own none of these characters, I just like to play with them.

Innocent and Hobson have the girlie chat we'd all love to see them have on the show. And the blanks to the Lewis/ Robson relationship are filled in.

Laura Hobson. Clarinet. Sagittarius. Favourite colour blue. Smokin' hot spy. A retelling of Dark Matter from Hobson's POV, including additional scenes and an alternate ending.

Laura Hobson is a sexy, cultured, well-educated woman. Surely over the many years, she had other offers, both romantic and job wise. So why did she stay devoted to Robbie and he to her all of those years? Here is my thought on it.

A simple tale of how two ordinary people got together, in spite of their better judgement.

We all know Series 8 is coming soon. Laura has had Robbie all to herself for quite awhile. I thought it might be fun to see how Laura feels about Robbie going back to the job. The story is inspired by pictures taken by AlbaOxon(Twitter handle) from shooting. It's marked T but we all know I will earn that M rating eventually.

One of Laura's laboratory experiments might come back to bite her… One part Robson-suggestive and one part Robson-spoof, this ficlet also nods to the Dick Van Dyke show. Post series 7 and assumes that Robbie has retired.

He loves her. She loves him. They have a wonderful life together. But is it enough? Sometimes a man is made to wonder if there is anything missing.

A short speculative fluff-fic for series 8 in which Lewis re-marries, unbeknownst to the bride.

When Hobson goes missing, Innocent tries to keep the retired Inspector Lewis from meddling in the investigation. But Lewis- with Hathaway's support, of course- refuses to give up.

It's Laura's birthday again, and Robbie is plagued by his own insecurities as the party looms. As much as Robbie tries never to compare/contrast the loves of his life, elaborate birthday parties are definitely filed under "things Val wouldn't do."

Robbie and Laura bond while taking care of their ailing son. What son? The tall awkward one, of course. James may have left policing behind, but he is stuck with Robbie and Laura!

Laura's thoughts on things Lewis doesn't talk about...

A non-linear approach to Ramblin' Boy (with a brief detour into Intelligent Design) as a series of vignettes. Memory after the fact is a complicated thing, and as Robbie and Laura look back on that magical time when their love was finally requited, they may not care in what order things really happened. Knowledge of the episode is a pre-requisite.

How far will Inspector Lewis go to protect Dr Hobson when she becomes embroiled in the Cotswold Catering Caper? A Robson drama set before series 7 unfolds!

This is set during Intelligent Design. It is what happened (in my mind at least) after Laura arrived at Robbie's for dinner. Reminder, I don't own the characters, merely borrowing them so they can have a little fun and some sexy time. Also, the story is rated M for a reason. If you don't like good clean sexy time, this is not the story for you. But be honest we all wanted this.

Set shortly after The Gift of Promise. In my world, Jean & Laura are good friends. Laura has a new man in her life and has decided that it is time to move on from Robbie. Be patient on the rating, we will get there in later chapters. I don't own any of the characters. If I did, they would have a lot more fun.

Robbie & Laura finally get time to themselves when they go on holiday in Italy. But the holiday is over when Jack Cornish is arrested in Sicily, and James joins Robbie to negotiate with the Italian police for Jack's extradition. Naturally, things get complicated. Takes place after Ramblin' Boy. SPOILERS for Inspector Montalbano, S9E4, "Una lama di luce/A Ray of Light."

Dr. Hobson must choose between her career and the man she loves. Meanwhile, Lewis doesn't have a choice at all when his marriage ends in tragedy. Flashback to some dark days for our protagonists. Will the two be able to comfort each other?

Finally, we're getting somewhere...a look at the Hobson/Lewis moments in The Ramblin' Boy.

An unexpected encounter with Nick Cornish leaves Lewis questioning his new relationship with Hobson. Meanwhile, Innocent gives Hobson a reality check of her own. And as usual, Hathaway has to pick up the pieces. Set between The Ramblin' Boy and Intelligent Design with references to both episodes.

Robbie simply minding Sam for an afternoon, gives him cause to worry about James. And a phone call from Innocent, soon lets Robbie, James and Sam know, that they are in trouble again. Sequel to "Who Says You Can't Choose Your Family" and "Friends Are The Family We Choose For Ourselves". Sorry for yet another story about these three, It'll stop eventually, I promise.

Laura and Robbie are planning a nice evening together, but a sudden accident has altered the course of their plans. Robbie races to the scene, only to find Laura trapped and in danger, bringing so many emotions to the forefront of his mind.

Taking a risk is never easy, but sometimes in order to feel alive it's often necessary. And sometimes the risk requires writing a new ending to the book, or is it a new beginning. Lewis/Hobson ship!
