On the few times that John actually notices Sherlock's humanity, it gives him a sense of being refreshed. Sherlock's only human. It's nice to see. When John receives a phone call in the middle of the night, he knows that something has happened to Sherlock, something qualifying as 'not good'. He is, however, not prepared for what has led to his friend's injury and hospitalisation. And he certainly isn't prepared to face the question if Sherlock will ever recover properly from what has happened.

Written for a prompt requesting John with early onset dementia, and how both he and Sherlock react to it. Especially when John becomes someone less than himself, which is heartbreaking to watch. Rated for language and feels. 7 chapters.

Inspired by Supernatural. After enduring decades of torture in Hell, John succumbs and takes up the knife himself onto other accursed souls. The darkness bleeds into him and steals him away, but he is the Righteous Man and the Angels need him desperately. Out of the garrisons sent down to rescue him, Sherlock is the one who reaches the broken human first and pulls him out.

-COMPLETE.- An AU in which John is attacked in Afghanistan by something he can't identify. Later at the hospital, the doctors discover something abnormal about John's blood- it isn't human. Inspired by this prompt: Sherlock didn't fake his death. He is actually dead. And John doesn't know what to do with himself. He is, therefore, happy and relieved once Sherlock starts possessing him. This isn't really the above prompt's fill, I kind of took the idea from there and spun it in to something darker and more sinister. COMPLETE.

He waits a moment before adding, somewhat reluctantly, "The simplest option would be to remove the embryo now before it tangles itself any further." Dean is quiet for a moment. "Cas, do you want this?" The angel is hesitant, but nods.

In retrospect, when a car is careening straight for the cab you're in, maybe shouting "Look out!" isn't the best warning. You should simply get out of the cab and out of the line of danger- Oh, wait, you can't do that? Well then, shouting "Look out!" is probably the best line of action.
