Author has written 9 stories for Pirates of the Caribbean, Forgotten Realms, and Harry Potter. My old profile was far too long, and it just screamed high school so I deleted it. I feel very free now. I don't feel like writing a new one so here, these should be good enough: My Facebook Profile What's there to say? I'm sarcastic and cynical long before my time (I have suspicions that my 'inner child' is actually 47). I have my faults, but I cover them up with arrogance. I'm half Dutch and roughly a quarter Irish. I like to write and to act, and I occasionally mix stories up with reality because too much reality is boring. I'm filled with political ambition, half because I want to create positive change in the world and half because I want my name to go down in the history books. My favourite alcohol is white wine. I feel most at home in the rain. I want to have one torrid and scandalous love affair in my life because I'm of the opinion that no life is complete without one. I like silver better than gold. I have no sense of smell, and no patience for people who wallow in their own problems. I studied fencing for six months and jiu-jitsu for two years. I recently discovered that I love hummus. I am currently wearing fishnet stockings. I'm impulsive. I get killer hangovers. After university I plan on travelling the world. I like to sing when no one's around. I don't believe in good or evil, but I do believe in love because, in the end, that's the only thing that matters. Favourite Quotes Life is what happens while we're making plans. It is better to die on your feet than to live on your knees. Doubt that the stars are fire, Doubt that the earth doth move, Doubt truth to be a liar, But never doubt I love. Deus Pascit Corvos. (God feeds the ravens. It's my family motto) My Stories Storm on the High Seas: Well, it has a special place in my heart as it's the first story I started writing on fanfiction, but honestly: I'm sick of it. My writing style has changed a lot since then, I realize now that Storm O'Connor is probably a Mary Sue, and basically I've moved on. Sorry everyone. For those who want to know what happens: Sam survives the gunshot wound for starters. Jack saves Storm from the privateers but it's a trap and they both get captured by the navy. There's a trial, Jack and Storm are sentenced to death by hanging, but Finn and Sam save them with the help of Thomas, Gabriel (kids they met in chapter...8? I don't remember) and a bunch of other street urchins. If anyone feels like writing the end for me, you're welcome to it. Nobody: I think it sucks, personally. If you gave this story legs, it would be a walking cliche. However, what do I know? Everyone else seems to like it for reasons I don't understand, and it was nice to know when I wrote it that I would get heaps of praise for not trying very hard. It was an ego booster story, which I guess is something every writer needs. Fate's Cruelty: A one shot that I'm rather proud of. It's the only Drizzt fanfiction I've ever written and will ever write. It's just a look at what could have been without wreaking havoc with the canon. Broken Mirrors: Like one night stands and 70s fashion trends, this story seemed like a good idea at the time, but it came with a brutal literary hangover and I really regret it now. My writing style is pretty good in this story but everything else sucks. I think I'll delete it soon. Caught in the Web: This is an actual serious piece of writing set in the forgotten realms. It is the first installment in a series that I hope to someday get published. With the exception of the setting, everything else in the story is original. The main character, an anti-heroine named Nadezdha, is the most complex character I have ever created and she is easily my favourite. It's a story without heroes or villains. It's a story about the drow and of elves, told from the point of someone who doesn't belong to either and yet belongs to both. It's a story about vengeance, love, family and the damage all three can cause. It may be fantasy, but it's all about people. It is a definite work in progress, but I am working on it. Sometimes I just get ahead of myself. It'll get done...eventually. The Assassin's Muse and The Love of Assassins: Vignettes based on Caught in the Web. They are about Nadezdha (when she grows up) and her relationship with Phyx, the leader of a drow rebel group. Is it love? Can the drow really love? Or is it just convenient? Nothing is Enough: My most recent story currently my favourite. This is probably my best Pirates of the Caribbean fanfiction. It took three times as long as I thought it would and I had no idea when I started that it would become what it is now. As the summary says, it's all about Jack and Anamaria's relationship, from childhood to death. It's imperfect, it's sometimes painful and it's not exactly love, yet how could it be anything else? I'm really proud of this short story. For maximum effect, read it while listening to Coldplay's 'Swallowed in the Sea' and 'Fix You'. |
