![]() Author has written 2 stories for Lion King, and Assassin's Creed. Announcement 16/6/2013: New cover for An Alternate Storyline is up on Devianart! Here, for you curious people: Announcement 23/5/2013: Emerald dreamer96 and I are working on a collaboration known as Ripples. It's an AU where Simba never experiences the guilt of apparently killing Mufasa and never learns about Hakuna Matata. Check it out! “What an astonishing thing a book is. It's a flat object made from a tree with flexible parts on which are imprinted lots of funny dark squiggles. But one glance at it and you're inside the mind of another person, maybe somebody dead for thousands of years. Across the millennia, an author is speaking clearly and silently inside your head, directly to you. Writing is perhaps the greatest of human inventions, binding together people who never knew each other, citizens of distant epochs. Books break the shackles of time. A book is proof that humans are capable of working magic.” About me: Just a person hailing from the small, sunny island of Singapore! Turned 18 and am legally an adult by law now. Cheers to that. Oh, and I am more fluent in English though my traditional language is Chinese. More about myself. I'm naturally a happy person, although I feel slightly inferior or insecure towards people at times. I tend to think a lot, but my actions make me seem a bit dumb in my own eyes. No matter, I'm still usually pleased by cool events that happen. In my opinion, a cool event ranges from the simple joy of getting my favourite food, to finishing a huge project, to getting a fav/follow/review on my story (not trying to sound arrogant, it's awesome to hear feedback), to completing a route on a high rock-wall, and back to simply laughing with my friends. Yes, if you still cannot tell by now, I'm pleased by many things in life. Also, I live to please. When someone is happy it makes me happy too. I don't know how that works, maybe it's just me. I hope, if you do chance upon my stories (or buildings, in the future!) that you'll flash a smile. I may not know if you smile or cried, but the thought of you smiling makes me smile too. I am currently trying out my hands on my own stories. However, my passion is more on drawing and sketching, and I am a budding architect in architecture school. My favourite authors and inspirations are K.A Applegate, Andrew Klavan, Danny Wallace, Kathryn Erskine, and I also really love the guys who composed the stories for the Assassin's Creed games, Corey May and his team. I hope I can compose a story just as well as they can! Nothing beats reading a good book, playing a game or watching a movie which sucks you in and lets you feel for the main character. That, in my opinion, is the best kind of story! I was addicted to Lion King in the past, and now I'm gravitated towards the Assassin's Creed fandom. I still read Lion King occasionally as there're some really GREAT stories there. My Review/Follow/Favourite Style: Reviews. Follows. Favourites Trivia: If you get the time, go find out how to pronounce the number 1 then 0 in Chinese (if you happen to understand Chinese, good for you). That, to the random person or friend reading this, is how you pronounce my actual name! ;) Psst! On Google Translate, type in 'one-zero' exactly, and translate it to 'Traditional Chinese'. Have any questions? Feel free to PM me. Oh and one last thing. To you, random stranger or friend reading this...smile! And have a great day. Cheers. Captain Chu10's Log 5 April 2013 7 April 2013 25 April 2013 The Lion King: An Alternate Storyline has reached 1048 views! I love you, readers! 31 May 2013 As of Chapter 10, and as I type this, The Lion King: An Alternate Storyline has reached 65 reviews - and it means a whole lot to me! A big thank you to all the readers who faved, followed, and/or reviewed! 7 July 2013, 4:47PM (SG time) Celebrations all around, An Alternate Storyline has hit 100 reviews! Congratulations to JJZ-109 for that honourary position! Yay! The Lion King Meme, done on 21 April 2013 Favorite character? Can I say I love all of the cast of both movies? Yes even the animals that bow during the presentations. Splendid. Least favorite character(s)? Well...I hated Timon and Pumbaa in TLK II. They just felt redundant during serious parts and even as a kid I wished they would shut the hell up. Haha. Characters who never met but you wish had? Kovu and Nala. Maybe this doesn't count but they never talk to each other in the movie! Most likable character? Rafiki. You can never go wrong with a crazy shaman! Character you wish got more development? Vitani. She's an interesting, direct, fierce character which was sadly overlooked in the movie. I was even looking for her when the lions roared at the end! Where was she?! Character you used to hate but now love? Kiara. I thought she was a dumb lioness for disobeying her father all the time when I was younger, because I grew up obeying my own parents. But when I got older I realized that Simba was sorta like my own dad and Kiara was sorta like myself. And the rest is history. Characters you used to love but now hate? I have no idea...at this moment I really cannot think of any character that I hate. Hmm. Which TLK character do you relate to? Kiara! As mentioned one question above. I'm kinda happy and dumb and optimistic like her too...does that count? Favourite outside-the-movies character? None. Favorite deleted character? None. How would I like a character I've never met? Favorite deleted scene? It's very obsolete, but there's this scene where Sarabi is supposed to comfort Simba after the hyena incident, at night. She's supposed to sing this song called 'The Lion In The Moon' but it was taken off to make way for the Simba/Mufasa scene with the stars. It wasn't even animated, but it held so much potential for a mother-son moment! Favourite area in the movie? I like the jungle which Timon and Pumbaa make their homes. It's so well animated in 'Hakuna Matata' and 'Can You Feel The Love Tonight' that I hope to visit Africa one day and see the gorgeous-ness for myself! Favorite score? THE WHOLE SCORE FROM THE FIRST TLK. INCLUDING THE MOVIE AND MUSICAL. Nuff' said. Favorite songs? Can I say I like all the songs from the first movie and the musical? :D My absolute favourite in Lion King II was We Are One, followed by My Lullaby. He Lives in You was in the musical so that counts too. The rest of the songs...? Maybe Disney really was on a tight budget. Favorite quote(s)? "De past can hurt, but you can choose to run from it, or learn from it." -Rafiki Favorite species? Umm. The Lion King. It's the MOVIE TITLE. Next! Favorite group (Pridelanders, outlanders, etc)? Without one there can never be the other. Both! Funniest moment? "The monkey's your uncle?!" Saddest moment? When Mufasa died, I was watching it as a kid, and I went 'oh no'. But when Simba started sobbing and desperately trying to wake his father up...it was heartbreaking, even for a little kid. Did I cry? No. But it was memorable enough. Scariest moment? Please Disney...you can't scare me -.- Happiest moment? At the end of the musical, when Simba proudly goes up Pride Rock and roars. I nearly wanted to start a standing ovation! Why isn't there a question for favourite moment? I loved it when Mufasa appeared as a spirit to Simba in the musical. Truly captivating and something magical that I will never forget. Which of the trilogy is your fav? First one's forever the boss. Do you consider the sequels and/or TLK6NA canon? TLK II yes, TLK 1&1/2 maybe. TLK6NA no. What do you think of the Kimba controversy? Maybe Disney had some inspiration from there, but the plots are really different. Disney didn't plagarize, it was just inspired, I guess. Pet peeves you have (one for each movie)? First: There should have been so much more of Sarabi and Mufasa screentime! Second: There are so many pet peeves, but my biggest one was Simba and Nala. We all know what happened to them. Just during Kiara's presentation they can change everything from their personalities to colouration! Third: This could have been so much more instead of focusing on Timon and Pumbaa. Crack pairings you've heard of? I don't know! Alright I will make one then. Scar and his Coconut, in which he grows mad and talks and draws on it as if it is a living thing! Do you want another sequel (if so, involving what)? Yes, involving Kovu and Kiara as the monarchs of the Pridelands. Anything can happen! Could Scar really be Kovu's father? Yes. Disney was just scared of incest stuff but these are lions! Noobs. I'm not an incest supporter though and I strongly discourage it in humans. Could Vitani or Nuka be Scar's? Yep! But Vitani's eyes...wonder where that came from. Is Kovu emo? Emo? He looks emo! But he is not. Don't stereotype him just because of his mane and his eyeshadow! Hahaha! Do you think Zazu is obnoxious? YES. Do you believe the Timon/Pumbaa thing? What??? NO. Was Simba too overprotective in the sequel? Yeah. But he had reasons. If I were him I think I'll do the same. Is Kiara truly a ditz? Yes, as most Disney princesses are. But she really proves herself as her father's daughter by quoting his words, 'We are One'. What do you think happened to the hyenas after LK 1? I hope they went far, far away from the Pridelands and started a nice family of their own! The hyenas were badly treated by Scar, and they too deserve a happy ending. What did you think of the Timon and Pumbaa series? Only watched a little. It's alright I guess :) Do you believe in the Shenzi/Banzai theory? Huh? Do you think it could ever tie into other Disney movies (if so, which ones)? Nah. It should stay in it's own universe. Unless you mix the story with Assassin's Creed II, one in which Simba plays the role of Ezio (hey, both their dads die!) and Simba has to go on a quest of revenge and epicness. Hell yeah! What's up with Nala's eye colour? I think I mentioned a low budget for TLK II... Thing the makers changed that you wish they hadn't? The 'Lion In The Moon' scene. But it's good that some of the deleted scenes came to life in the musical. As for TLKII, all the deleted scenes should have came back. Have you seen TLKoB (if so, did you like it)? HELL FREAKING YES. AND YES. Do you like anthro/human/AU's? I do like those by JJZ-109 in the case of humanised lions. As for AUs, yes, I even have one of my own. Voice actors you loved? All of them! Did you know Jim Cummings (voice of Ed) covered for Jeremy Irons (voice of Scar) at the end of "Be Prepared"? I think most of the fans know this and I'm no exception. Do you consider Scar/Zira to be an official pairing? I don't know...Zira wasn't even mentioned in TLKII. I think it was just a convenient plot-hole that triggered the sequel. Hehe. What do you think happened to Sarabi in the second movie? Her voice actor died before the second movie, so Disney did not include her out of respect. She probably went to peponi with her voice actor off-screen, I hope :) Do you think Scar is Nala's father? No. Do you think Ed is mentally challenged? Hahaha yes! But I love him. Own any TLK merchandise? I have the CDs for all three movies. Do musical tickets and free guidebooks and brochures count? Were the hyenas' actions justified? Totally. Were Scar's actions justified? No. Disney could have done so much more...many authors on the site made me wish their stories were cannon though. Scar is justified iin those stories! Were Zira's actions justified? No. Disney needed an excuse for a villain I guess. Why do you think the Outlanders were still loyal to Scar? C'mon he was so charming. Because Scar is awesome, and probably some of the Outlanders were his mates or something. Crossovers you like? My own that I mentioned about Ezio and Simba earlier. Wouldn't that be an AWESOME story! Maybe I should write it for fun's sake. Do you find Timon and Pumbaa enjoyable or annoying? In the first movie I loved them! In the second movie Zira should have ate them. The best king or king-to-be? Mufasa! The best queen or queen-to-be? Nala. In the fanfiction universe I like T5Tango's Jolina. Timon or Pumbaa? Umm...Pumbaa! Kiara or Kopa? Kiara. Kopa isn't canon and was never made to be. Scar or Mufasa? This is hard...Mufasa. Simba or Kovu? Kovu! Scar or Zira? Scar. But Zira has a cooler theme song. Simba or Zira? Zira. Simba or Scar? Simba. Kiara or Nala? Nala. Mufasa or Simba? Mufasa. Zazu or Gopher? HAHAHA Zazu. Shenzi or Banzai or Ed? Shenzi! Ma or Uncle Max? Do I really have to...? Alright Ma. Sarabi or Sarafina? Sarabi. Rafiki or Zazu? Rafiki all the way! Simba/Nala or Mufasa/Sarabi? Simba/Nala. Shenzi/Banzai or Shenzi/Ed? Shenzi/Banzai. Scar/Zira or Scar/Nala? Scar/Zira. Sarafina/Scar or Shenzi/Scar? Sarafina/Scar. Hyena and lion together as mates are strange. Kovu/Kiara or Vitani/Kopa? Kovu/Kiara. The other pair was only made up because Vitani doesn't have a mate. Oh and Kopa, he's not canon. Describe the movie in three words Visually, emotionally stunning. |
