The Raven's Sorrow

A Raven soars in the mid-day sky,

Silently he utters a cry

He weeps and weeps for the loss of his love

He knows she's watching from up above

The Raven sighs and lands in a tree

He wonders, Is she missing me?

Does she remember when we went down to the stream?

Or when we knocked over that child's ice cream?

Does she remember when we went to the park?

Does she smile, remembering when we welcomed the stark?

Does she wonder how Little Raven is feeling?

Or about the raven he finds appealing?

Do you hear us when we cry out in sorrow?

Do you know what's going to happen tomorrow?

Did you watch Little Raven as he learned to fly?

Do you know how hard it is not to cry?

I know I have to let you go

I try not to let my emotions show

The way you died was such a shame
