IMPORTANT: For those fans who are currently following some of my stories: I apologise for the fact that I haven't updated in a long time but I have recently given birth to a beautiful baby girl and have not had the time or energy to continue writing. Character Assessment according to Kimmimaru: Sirius Black: In canon he is described as: a brave, clever, and energetic man, and such men are not usually content to sit at home in hiding while they believe others to be in danger. He was the last remaining heir to the house of Black which says to me that he would have a certain amount of arrogance, he wouldn’t be able to help it because an upbringing like that is a form of brainwashing. His parents were second cousins, this tells me that he is born from incest therefore would be mentally and emotionally unstable. It is a well known Canonical fact that Sirius had a terrible home-life, he despised his family and this leads me to believe that as a child he may have been abused. (Mental and Physical would both have their effects). The abuse suffered would have had an adverse affect on his mental state, no one, and I MEAN no one comes out of any constant abusive situation without some mental scarring. By the way he reacted to Pettigrew’s re-emergence in POA, I can judge that Sirius has some serious anger issues and becomes extremely obsessive over things. He is determined to murder Peter and it is only Harry, who resembles James, who can reign in that homicidal rage. This suggests that he may have only listened to James when they were younger, which is backed even further in OOTP when Harry enters Snape’s worst memory. Physically he is described as Handsome with GREY eyes and long black hair, however, he does not seem to show any interest in romantic involvement with girls…This does not say he is gay, it merely shows that he either has no interest in sex or any other natural teenage urges or, in my head, he is gay(lol).

After his imprisonment in Azkaban JK Rowling HERSELF says that Sirius’ mental/emotional growth is suspended, he is stuck with the mental attitude of a twenty-one year old. He is powerful but lacks control over his emotions and I would therefore suspect his magic, I would assume that around someone like that there would be a lot of accidental magic…like when Harry blows up his Aunt Marge. Later he begins to become confused between Harry and James, which tells me the mental effects of Azkaban don’t disappear overnight. And of course there is the fact that Sirius Black is HUMAN. Human’s have this annoying habit of making mistakes, doing stupid things and sometimes being evil twats…this does NOT make them bad people, it makes them HUMAN.

Lastly, Bravery in NO WAY means lack of fear. Lack of fear is for people with no imagination and very short life-spans. Bravery is overcoming fear, not lacking it entirely.
