It is 1986, and Harry and Connie are in Moscow on Operation Renaissance. Harry is developing suspicions about the operation as there are increasing indications that it has been blown. But who can he turn to for help to confirm those suspicions? A re-imagining of the old operation mentioned in episode 7.7.

Alternate Universe. January 1944, and World War II is moving towards its climax. Young Intelligence cadet Ruth Evershed is selected for a special mission in France - to become the liaison with a German asset. But is the SS officer she is sent to meet all that he appears to be? Warning: Contains descriptions of the Nazi atrocities that took place in the concentration camps.

The investigation has unexpected consequences and the team must race against the clock to prevent a catastrophe. Meanwhile, Harry makes overtures towards Ruth, but will the impact of the operation scupper any chance of a relationship?

Takes place after episode 6.9. With Zaf missing, Ros and Ruth in exile and Adam threatening to fall apart, Harry struggles to hold his team together in the wake of the Davey King debacle. Then he is confronted with an impossible choice, the consequences of which could ruin his career and any chance he might have of reuniting with his beloved analyst. Shortish one.

Takes place directly after episode 5.4. A walk-in brings information about a terror attack on British soil, and alleges that there is a mole in MI5. It sets in motion a chain of events that threatens to destroy everything Harry has worked for and holds dear.

Alternative season 10 story. MI5 gets an offer of information about the whereabouts of a notorious terrorist, and must decide whether it is for real or an elaborate trap. Ruth is roped in from her new job at the Home Office to help assess the source of information, which brings unresolved feelings to the surface. And then the Americans get involved - with devastating consequences.

Alternative season 10 storyline. When Russian Minister Ilya Gavrik and his wife come to London, quickly followed by the CIA, a drama that started in Berlin more than thirty years ago comes to a head. Will Harry succeed in keeping secret events that could destroy him and wreck the tentative steps he and Ruth have taken towards each other in the aftermath of Albany?

Written after season 10. As Harry struggles to come to grips with Ruth's death, he is faced with ensuring the security of the Olympics. He becomes convinced there is a threat, and that it is linked to events that took place during his stint in Northern Ireland. Is he right, or has his judgement been impaired by recent events?

Written before season 10 aired, when Gaddafi was still in control of Libya. The Foreign Secretary wants Harry to utilise his past connections to influence events in Libya but Harry is sceptical of success. Instead he puts his own operation in place with Ruth's help. Things don't go quite as planned, and he and Ruth are forced to enter enemy territory. Will they both get out alive?

Written before season 10 aired. Harry is forced to leave the service because of the Albany affair, and Ruth must decide where her future lies in the aftermath. Meanwhile, William Towers is working behind the scenes on Harry's behalf.

Written before season 10 aired, so some of the new characters' personalities differs from canon. A former colleague is snatched from his home, leaving Harry and his team to try and piece together what is going on. And in the midst of it all Harry and Ruth must find a way to work together again after the Albany affair.

As a result some of the names and characters won't quite be the same. The Russians know a dark secret about Harry's past and tries to use it to force him into doing their bidding. The HS suspects something and asks Ruth to spy on Harry.

Written shortly after season 9 aired, and featuring the team as we knew it in 9.8. A bit of Harry/Ruth fun to atone for the dark subject matter of the previous story. There is a plot if you look really hard, but it's just an excuse to have some fun with them. Harry and Ruth must go undercover together; will this bring them closer together or drive them further apart?

Written between seasons 9 and 10, featuring the team as we saw them in episode 9.8. Remember Alec? Harry puts a stop to an MI6 black op, and sometime later he disappears. Are the two events connected? And can the team find him before it is too late? Warning: Contains scenes of torture.

Written before season 10 aired. Harry survives the Inquiry, and his first task back is to provide security for an environmental conference. Matters take an unexpected turn, and becomes personal for both Harry and Ruth.

Written shortly after the end of season 9. Faced with the prospect of losing his job, Harry leaves London to see if he is able to live a normal life, but gets more than he bargained for. Meanwhile, Towers tries to enlist Ruth's help to save Harry's career, and places her in a difficult position.

This takes place after episode 9.3. Ruth goes to Israel for peace talks but is put in grave danger. Can Harry and the team figure out what is going on in time to save her? Will Harry be able to put emotions aside and make the hard decisions?

An operation takes Harry and his team to Northern Ireland, where Harry is forced to face his past and his relationship with Ruth is tested to the limit. Based on the information in Harry's Diary about his time in Belfast. Set in early season 9, but Harry and Ruth are together in this version.

Harry receives an unexpected visitor with a remarkable story to tell. Is it a lie, or is there truth to the tale of a ghost from the past that poses a grave threat to national security, but who could also return to Harry that which he desires most of all?

Post S10. Follow-up to Thicker than Water, which explains why Ruth is alive and in a relationship with Harry. A suicide bombing sets off a chain of events that will test Harry and his team to the limit, and forces Ruth to choose sides between Harry and her new boss.
