Author has written 3 stories for Harvest Moon, and Avatar: Last Airbender. So, I have come to a decision regarding my unfinished works, and most of you are not going to like it. I'm not updating them. I am in protest. Lately, it has come to my attention more and more how riddled with cyber-bullies this site is. From the Critics United to the Literate Union to users who are just plain awful, I cannot take it anymore. I have zero desire - zilch, zip, nada - to be apart of a community who allows this to happen without punishment. FanFiction is a place to practice writing, to learn and grow. People come here looking for help and encouragement, not to be visciously torn down because somebody who thinks themself better. Some groups, like Critics United, hide behind the guise that they are going after fics that solely violate the rules. While this may or may not be true and whether they think they are doing the right thing or not doesn't give them permission to seek out people's works and gang up on them, tear them down without mercy! What on earth could posses you to be so downright terrible to another person? I just can't understand it. These people have a forum - a freaking forum! - dedicated to posting the worst characters they've seen, keeping track of stories they want deleted, where they advertise their own hate-mail to see who has the worst! Moving on. Other groups, mostly Literate Union, don't even try to say they're trying to help. They just flat out flame because they want to. Their forum has an entire thread where people go to say 'I want this story flamed'. What the heck? Why? Most people on here are just starting out! Why would you destroy them like that? If they need help, give it to them in concrit, not with a nasty flame. This is taken directly from their forum, from the admin: "This is the official flamer/concritter 'chat.' Talk about your flames, reviews, discuss links, noobs, PMs, and flaming hilarity with other flamers." Flaming hilarity? ! Flames are not funny, people, and they never will be. These people are sick, getting enjoyment out of the misery of others. The Bible tells us to do unto others what you would have them do unto you. Nobody enjoys getting flamed, and don't anyone dare PM me and tell me otherwise; you'd be lying. So if no one enjoys having it done unto them, what gives you the right to do it to them? I just don't get it. Of course, there are the bullies who waltz around on their own. I found this review left behind on a story that I thought was perfectly alright: "Don't say 'orbs'. It's f* stupid." Then, on the same story from the same author: "Yeah, it started out okay, but it kind of sucks now." There is no excuse for this kind of behavior. Truly, there is not. I realize that not all the people involved with CU and LU are sadistic, but I just want to ask how those people can run with a crowd that intentionally tears people down for their own sick enjoyment. How? How can you be involved with this kind of behavior? I don't understand. This is nothing but cyber-bullying, and it is becoming more and more of a problem. I refuse to write for FFN until these kind of issues are resolved. I don't want to even remotely be associated with these kinds of people. If anyone who partakes in cyber-bullying sees this, I don't care if you report me for beind rude. You have no right to do so, after what you've said to some of the members here. I can't take it anymore. Get your act together. For those who have been victims of such atrocities, a little encouragment from Matthew 5:11-12: "11Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. 12Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you." For those who have partaken in this horrible behavior: Psalm 50:16-21: "But to the wicked person, God says: 'What right have you to recite my laws or take my covenant on your lips? 17 You hate my instruction and cast my words behind you. 18 When you see a thief, you join with him; you throw in your lot with adulterers. 19 You use your mouth for evil and harness your tongue to deceit. 20 You sit and testify against your brother and slander your own mother’s son. 21 When you did these things and I kept silent, you thought I was exactly[c] like you. But I now arraign you and set my accusations before you.'" |
