Author has written 3 stories for Percy Jackson and the Olympians. Hello, my name is Kayla Sue No-Last-Name. Don’t let the lack of surname confuse you: I just don’t want some strange cyber-stalker contacting me via Facebook or Twitter. I want my writing to strictly stay on Fanfiction dot net, and Fanfiction dot net alone. Why? Glad you asked. You see, most of my friends and family don’t know I write fan fiction and if they did, well my mom for one would say I’m getting a little TOO obsessed with the books I read. Which I am, don’t get me wrong. I’ve read the Harry Potter books seven times, watched Darren Criss and Joey Richter hug it out over Red Vines, cried when Alan Rickman (may he rest in peace) took one, shuddering final breath, waved a plastic wand when I was Hermione for Halloween…three years in a row, gasped at the wonder of J.K. Rowling’s use of the Ring Theory, and I’m almost certain I developed a mild case of Post-Potter Depression for a whole month after the eighth movie came out. I have not, however, been to Universal Studios…yet. But you can bet your broomstick I’ll go there and enjoy a glass of butterbeer and a case of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans before I leave this earth. Okay, so obsession might be an understatement. Let’s go with infatuation. Hi, my name is Kayla Sue No-Last-Name and I have been infatuated with everything Harry Potter since I was six. I am now seventeen almost eighteen. Blog 1 May 2013 So it’s snowing outside right now. In May, might I add. And I don’t even live in a region that’s supposed to be coated in white powder: I live in flipping Nebraska for crying out loud! But all this snow means more time to work on a story to add to my collection of fan fictions. In school, I’m currently enrolled in an AP Language and Composition course, and we’re studying analysis and how authors use specific diction, syntax and imagery to convey a tone or mood in a passage. So I took these concepts and transferred them into my writing for this website. Currently, I’m working on writing a long short story about the relationship between Sirius, James, and Lily from the Harry Potter series. Here’s a super exclusive but very rough sneak peek. “His shaggy black hair framed a handsome face, with chiseled features that would make any witch swoon. His eyes. One could not even begin to comprehend the intense agony his black eyes possessed. In them, were flames burning every last sanity he had, every last thread of a brother, a sister, and a godson, gone. Tear stains traveled from the corner of his eyes, where one could still see a phantom of laugh lines, to his hairline, as if he had been crying into the wind. It was a poster-esque scene; a lone figure standing in front of a crumbling house, still ablaze with the remnants of a terrible act of dark magic.” Intrigued? This beauty shall be posted sometime by the end of this month or early June, what with finals and AP exams and work and trying to stay fit. |
