![]() Author has written 17 stories for Dragon Age, Elder Scroll series, Mass Effect, Dark Souls, and Star Wars. Hi guys, Philip here. I'm a Sagittarius, I like long walks on the beach, romantic dinners, and... oh hell with it! I can't do this! I've been writing stories since I was in middle school, both original fiction and fanfiction. Occasionally I go back and and read some of my early stuff and think to myself 'boy this is bad!' This might just be my pride talking, but I think I've gotten pretty good by now. I love writing, it's easily my favorite hobby, and how I spend a lot of my down time. I'd say say how much time I have to write depends on what's going on at work, why can't it be the other way around. I started playing Dragon Age Origins back in 2011 I think, and after several months I felt I had to write my own interpretation of how things unfolded for the Wardens. I started to wonder about what would happen if multiple Wardens survived, and how they would get along. That's really my focus for 'Rise of the Wardens', the interactions between various Wardens and their companions. I have plans for sequals, both for what happened to the Wardens before and after Awakening, and during Awakening itself. Some of them might take place in Kirkwall during the time of DA2, but don't hold your breath for a story that centers on Hawke... And for the record, I will NEVER do a story on DA Inquisition! As for my other writing/gaming interests. I'm into Skyrim... and am not so patiently waiting the next Elder Scrolls installment, but I find it hard to write to Elder Scrolls stories because the world is jsut too big. As for the Mass Effect saga, I'm really only borderline interested. In terms of story I think that the first one was easily the strongest, and ME2 was easily the weakest. 'Survivors' might be my only ME fic, but I have some other ideas. Thanks for your interest, and good luck on your own writing. I'm always open to criticism and other suggestions/ideas. Below are a list of my Wardens, who will probably make multiple appearances throughout any future stories I write. Eebon Cousland - An imposing person due to his stoic nature and towering physique, Eebon is a berserker, and therefore far more dangerous than he looks. Eebon is an extremely dedicated man who holds the mission first, and everything else secondary. He favors the greatsword. Endrin Mahariel - Formerly the best hunter of the Sabrae Clan, Endrin was surprised to say the least that the group voted her to be the leader. Endrin has always preferred words over blades, and is usually happy to live and let live. Dharr Aeducan - A natural born soldier, Dharr is a dwarf of few words. Years of service in the Dwarven Army, and multiple battles against the darkspawn in the Deep Roads have molded him into an unmatched warrior and brilliant strategist. Kylae Tabris - Born to the alienage, Kylae was instilled with a deep abiding sense of suspicion towards anyone who did not fit into the narrow categories of family and friends. Kylae is a volatile young elf with little patience for anyone or anything. Tylis Amell - Despite being recruited into the Grey Wardens at nineteen years old, Tylis wields startling power in the primal and entropy schools. Family was a completely foreign concept to Tylis until he grew to think of his companions as family, he would do anything for them. Roaran Brosca - Every word that leaves Roaran's mouth is drenched in sarcasm. Being born and raised casteless, Roaran does not care about anyone he does not consider a friend, nor anything that does not directly involve him. Even the threat of a blight carries very little weight with him. Here are some ideas for stories I've been mulling over in my head. Reunion (Dragon Age)- Tylis and Endrin both travel to Kirkwall, one in seach of his family, the other in search of her clan. What they find however is not what they expect. Assassin (Dragon Age) - After several successful jobs on behalf the Antivan Crows, Kylae was informed that the Crows were no long accepting contracts on the Grey Wardens. But with the ambush and failed assassination of the Warden Commander at Vigil's Keep, that proved to be a lie. Kylae journeys all the way to Antiva City, to strike at the head of the snake... or crow. If You Want Peace... (Dragon Age) - Twenty years after the end of the blight, the Kingdom of Ferelden and the Dalish Clans are on the verge of signing the first peace treaty between humans and elf. A templar captain however refuses to live in peace with such blatant 'heathens', and with a small army of like-minded humans sets out to kill any Dalish they can find and stop the peace before it has even begun. Once more, the fate of Ferelden, and now the Dalish Elves rests on the shoulders of Endrin, as she leads of small but lethal band of both human and elven warriors in search of the murderers, proving the old proverb to be true: if you want peace, prepare for war. Blood Oath (Dragon Age) - Good soldiers and Wardens died because of Anders' betrayal. Kylae Tabris and Nathanial Howe barely managed to escape the Deep Roads with their lives. Now Kylae has sworn an oath on her own blood that she will find Anders wherever he's gone, and kill him. Eventually her path leads her to the city of Kirkwall, but will she be in time to find him... and stop something much worse. Fall and Rise of the Blades (Skyrim) - The Dragonborn has risked his life so many times for the good of the many, he can't even remember. But when the last two Blades tell him to kill his friend and mentor, Paarthunax, his patience finally reaches its limits. Beware the wrath of the Dragonborn. Dragonborn Triumvirate (Skyrim) - There wasn't just one Dragonborn, there were three. A Redguard, an Argonian, and a Bosmer, a soldier, a mercenary, and a thief. Despite their differences, and their disdain for each other, destiny has brought them together. It might have something to do with how they can only absorb a dragon's soul when they're together. Sacrifice (Mass Effect 1) - Commander Shepard knew that he was the galaxy's best hope for survival, but he couldn't stand to see a friend die. He laid down his own life to save both Kaidan and Ashley on Virmire, now it falls to his crew to stand against Seren, Sovereign, and the geth. Untitled (Mass Effect 1) - Shepard never existed. Ashley and Kaidan managed to save Eden Prime, and received the vision from the Prothean beacon on their own. Now against orders, and being forced to outmaneuver both the geth, and the Alliance agents hunting them, the two soldiers must recruit a team, and stop the Reapers. |
