Found this site after doing many Google searches on the animated movie Rio, and ended up on one of the fanfics. Was obsessed with the movie at the time and often caught myself daydreaming about it. So I signed up to turn those daydreams into a fic or two.

My first fic ever! Not really anything special, it's just a revision of a particular scene in the movie I wasn't very thrilled about. Still, many people agreed this revision would've worked better than the actual scene.

The Fall of Nigel (Rio)

A story about the villain Nigel (one of my personal favorite villains ever), about his glory days as a television star, his sudden resignation and him turning evil because of it.

From Whence They Came (Rio)

Third and most successful fic to date! Blu and Jewel get reunited with their parent(s). However, a spilled secret threatens to shatter the friendship between the latter.
Warning and possible spoiler: this story does not know a happy ending. I don't think I've ever seen a movie or read a book that didn't have a happy ending and it always kinda irked me, so that's why I had this fic end on a less positive note.

The Enemy of My Enemy (Guardians of Ga'Hoole)

Kraai, a pacifist crow living in Ambala Forest, reluctantly participates in owl mobbings. One day, he learns of an army of crows plotting to attack the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, right after the conclusion of the Moon Festival. He sets out to warn the Guardians, and meets some new friends along the way. But when the supposed attack doesn't occur, he gets cast out and rejected by everyone. Will this rejection cloud his better judgement, or will he come to his senses?

To Be A Wonderbolt (My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic)

Rainbow Dash finally gets to join the Wonderbolts, fulfilling her life-long dream. When it turns out the beginning of said dream means the end of the dream of another pony, will she be able to live with herself knowing it did?

Party in Ipanema, Baby! (Rio)

Kelso, a strikingly beautiful Camelot Macaw from the States, escapes the confines of human ownership to make it big in Rio de Janeiro as the next hottest thing in town on the party scene. To achieve that goal, he needs to de-throne the current occupants: Nico and Pedro. He quickly comes to regret that attempt, for Nico and Pedro have friends in obscure places who make sure they stay on top.
SERIOUS EFFIN WARNING: this is a grimdark fic. Those who have read My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic grimdark fics like "Cupcakes", "Sweet Apple Massacre" or "Cheerilee's Garden" will know what this means. In a nutshell, it involves torture, gore and ultimately, death.

From Whence They Came is my most successful fic to date, and subsequently, the one I'm most proud of. I planned to make a sequel, but along the way of writing one, I lost the motivation. At this point, I'm not sure if I will ever continue with it and make it see the light of day.

If people are wondering about the absence or death of some of these OC's in The Withering, a collaboration between Rapture At Sea and myself: The Withering is a seperate turn of events in the world of Rio, with appearances of both our OC's. It is not a sequel to any of our stories.

Party in Ipanema, Baby!

- Kelso: Camelot Macaw. Being a natural born party-bird, he escapes the confines of human ownership since he's a bred species, and travels to Rio to make it big on the party scene.

- Shelly: Kelso's sister. Escapes with her brother to Rio de Janeiro.

- Donato: Military Macaw. Owns the club Nico and Pedro have their monthly Challenge Night in.

- Natanael AKA Nate: Blue-and-Gold Macaw. Befriends Kelso and Shelly when they arrive in Rio, and shows them a bit around.

Note: A Camelot Macaw really exists. It's a cross between a Scarlet and a Catalina Macaw. The latter, in turn, is a cross between a Scarlet and a Blue & Gold Macaw. Look it up, it's one of the most gorgeous birds I've ever seen.

The Enemy of My Enemy

- Kraai: Crow. Has an affinity for life, including owls. When he learns about a plot of a huge crow attack against the Great Ga'Hoole Tree, he sets out to warn the Guardians, which gets him excluded and ultimately hunted down by his kin. Meets Ekster, Arend, Kerk and Bix while looking for a way to warn the Guardians. (Note: 'Kraai' is Dutch for 'crow')

- Ekster: Magpie. Cousin of Trader Mags. Offers shelter to Kraai, at the cost of her home and nearly all her possessions, and joins him on his quest to warn the Guardians. (Note: 'Ekster' is Dutch for 'magpie')

- Arend: Bald eagle. Son of Streak and Zan. Assists Kraai and Ekster when under crow attack, and beyond. (Note: 'Arend' is Dutch for 'eagle')

- Kerk: Barn Owl. Extremely fast flight speed, but severe hearing disability, both conditions inflicted by the presence of flecks while growing in his egg. (Note: 'Kerk' is Dutch for 'church'. A Barn Owl in Dutch is called 'kerkuil' - 'kerk-uil' - 'church-owl'.)

- Targas: Barn Owl. Father of Kerk, mate of Illia. (deceased)

- Illia: Barn Owl. Mother of Kerk, mate of Targas.

- Bix: Nest-maid snake. First under the service of Kerk's family, before his parents went missing.

- Zwart: Crow. Leader of the army of crows, seeking vengeance against the Guardians for losing his loved ones in 'their' War of the Ember. (Note: 'Zwart' is Dutch for 'black')

- Molod: Crow. Former friend of Kraai. (deceased)

- Jette: Milky Eagle Owl. Prime messenger of the Joss Corps. (Note: the name 'Jette' is based on a Belgian town with the same name.)

- Florentina: Pygmy Owl.

- Victus and Luna (Shard and Bryony's chicks): Spotted Owls. Hatched on the supposed day of the crow attack.

Shard and Bryony are characters that appear in the Legend of the Guardians video game, owned by Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.
