Author has written 1 story for Lord of the Rings. Hey, my name is kait. I'm 15 and im in no way skilled at writing. I am, however, obsessed with every world other than my own. Fantasy is truly the bane of my existance. I have always found myself or been found caught up in a book, TV show, movie, writing, something that had to do with mythical creatures and every impossible imagenable. I'm completely relieved that i've found a place to empty my thoughts and stories along with other people. one thing im really aiming for with my stories is to make sure i write with the least amount of corniness as possible. i have a serious problem when writers use that cliche loveydovey type lingo in their romance stories. i want to keep things raw and very real, because if i dont i feel as though my writing has lost all of its intensity and passion and empathy. i want my reader to feel some sense of realness and seriousness; something they can connect to, and not something that they scrunch their nose at because its overly corny. (bythewayy, if i reply to your comment dont be surprised. i want to keep a personal and honest relationship with my readers and fans. it just makes writing my stories all the better) (: ihaveallmyfactsstraight. i made up that celeborn died in order to contrast/compare with legolas loosing his mother, which, considering there is no clear conclusion to legolas's mother's absence, i made that up too. catchh my drift?* AYYOOO, im almost saddened writing Calethiel's chapter due to how much fun i have writing Legolas's. his is much more linguistic. :P anyways, next chapter contains the council... but its gonna be different. im going to have both point of views written in one chapter, back and forth. be prepared for alottt of repetition, and rapid thoughts along with actual dialog from the MOVIE* (i would do the book, but the council is farrr too longg for my liking and style, sorry if that dissapoints:/) thankss again for readinggg! synopsis to Calethiel and Legolas: Calethiel Adlanniel (meaning ascender) is the daughter of Galadriel and Celeborn, born in the year 1,000 of the second age. less than 200 years after her fathers death from the War of the Last Allience, which happened when she was but the young elf age of 742, she left home. other than he short travel and self explorations among Middle Earth, most of her years away from home she spent with Gandalf, who has always been in her life. the only time her and Gandalf had been separated after the departure of Lothlorien, was when Gandalf had taken his adventures with Bilbo. During that time she spent many of her days in Rivendell. After Gandalf came back, him and Calethiel had spent many summers in Tower of Orthanc, studying with Saruman and Gandalf. there, Calethiel had learned the ways of healing, telepathy and all of the other things she was meant to study in Lothlorien. She is also no stranger to war or any sort of combat, for she faught alongside the Elves of Mirkwood in the Battle of Five armies in Erebor. Gandalf took part in this war as well, but neither of them had met Legolas during the battle, preporation of the battle, or afterword. however, Calethiel does know Thranduil. Calethiel is rather terrible with a bow and arrow, but brilliant with a sword, even though she hates the feel of it. She does not enjoy any part of killing, and she even takes pity on Orcs, as she does with every living creature. She only kill's if it is her last option, or it is what must be done. although Calethiel has a love for everything that lives, she does not always take liking to being around her own kin, unlike Legolas. Part of this is due to the perfection she believes her kin expects from her and the fact that she had grown in her early years in Lothlorien, which is a much more spiritual Elven Land than Rivendell or Mirkwood. This is a main reason why she left her home before taking the thrown, and became nomadic with Gandalf. she much rather liked to be apart of all other parts of Middle Earth, with all other kind of creatures. (her favorite creatures being men because of their imperfection) Calethiel had seen nearly of Middle Earth before the age of 700, but after her father died she spent a great deal of 150 years wroth of time, not moving from the gates of Lothlorien. This was until her mother informed her that it was nearing her time to rule. Calethiel left as soon Gandalf arived, and as he finished his buisness in Lothlorien, she waited for him in Rivendell. she became ill around the year 2,972 of the 3rd age, which was little before Gandalf left for the Shire. Her ailment was placed upon her by Saruman in his attempt to destroy Lothlorien because without a second member of Light was in Lothlorien, Galadriel did not have enough strength to sheild it herself. Saruman placed a the curse of Lothlorien Descent upon Calethiel, causing her to hate her kindred with pure passion and rage, and then become sick over the thoughts. but, before Calethiel's ailment, she was Strong, witty, humble beyond belief and hardly ever complained about anything. but this side of her is not brought out in the beggining of the story, (you will see a huge change in her throughout the story when her and legolas finally meet) WHY CALETHIEL IS INVOLVED WITH THE RING: she feels an overwhelming need to destroy it because it is what weakens her mother to want go to the grey havens, killed her father, and gives Saruman cause to place a curse on her. She also feels a strong pity and Empathizing love towards Frodo, as her mother does. despite her weakness, calethiel adventures off to find frodo and help him to destroy it, seeing she can never feel attachment to any rings of power due to her upbringing around most of them. WHY CALETHIEL AND LEGOLAS FALL IN LOVE: she sees the world completely differently than Legolas, just as He sees the world completely differently from her. They both fill missing parts in one another. for example, Calethiel has seen and felt the sad side of death, unlike Legolas who has only seen the other side, which was in his favor; they have both experienced death which has a part in who they are, yet they have dealt with it in opposite ways. Calethiel teaches him the ways of death, the more human side of death... sorrow, which he finds odd that he has never noticed. Also, Legolas has the stereotypical elven personality with a bit of a twist, he brings out Calethiel's confidence to rule lothlorien and to better love her kin. !!(i'll get into further detail when im further into the story)!! |
