Author has written 38 stories for Mega Man, Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles, Dissidia: Final Fantasy, Super Smash Brothers, Fire Emblem, Pokémon, Dynasty Warriors, and Splatoon. Ah, yes. Writing up my profile. Yes. Writing, writing is good, as long as it's done with an exxcelent speling techneec. Name's Scuttlest. Nice to meet you... is what I would say, but we're not actually talking to each other now, are we? About me, you want to read about me, then. First off, i'm Caucasian male. My ethnic background is British, French, Irish, German, and a bit of Native American. I identify myself with the French in me more then anything else. I attend college right now, hoping to move to a Dorm college sooner or later. My major is History, and I'm primarly interested in Medieval Europe. My birthday is December 5th. My birth year was 1990. This leaves me at 26 years of age as of writing. I'd probably describe myself as a bit of a loner, I'm cool being by myself. I prefer it, actually. Someone to talk to is good and all, but in general i've always been the kid who hangs back a bit and hopes to not be noticed. I'm not the most... bubbly person you'll ever meet, though I'm a bit more loose over the internet. People have described me as "introverted", if that will pin my personality down any clearer for you. My hobby was, is, and always will be, video games. I can't remember a period of my life I wasn't playing them. I find RPGs and Platformers the most enjoyable, but i'm fond of many different genres of gaming. There are too many series I like to list them all, but I'll list the big ones: Mario, Mega Man, Legend of Zelda, Final Fantasy, Fire Emblem, Kirby, Kingdom Hearts, Warcraft, and Pokemon. Of course, even my favorite series I don't follow all that well. Have to put priority on my life. I'm not much of a fan of the FPS (First-Person Shooter) genre, but I feel the hate for the FPS genre is quite unwarrented. The only FPS games I've played were way back, like Goldeneye for the N64. Most recent one I played was Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, which is... very different from a Call of Duty game. I am debating getting into the Killzone franchise. Beyond video games, my hobbies include comic books, hard-cover novels, and reading in general. I'm a bit of a bookworm, I like to read lots of fantasy and Sci-Fi, and also enjoy documentaries on various subjects. I like to think of myself as a bit of an intellectual. There's a hard to describe, but clearly felt sense of fun, killing an afternoon with a (good) book. I don't watch much TV or see many movies, when I do watch them, I prefer comedies, and animation. If I'm watching a serious-minded TV or movie, it's probably related to one of my other interests on some level, weather video game, or comic book. I keep my list of things i've watched a narrow list, one could call me shallow-minded, but I'm also rarely disappointed with what I watch. My Fanfiction. At this time, I focus on a Splatoon series. The series Squid Siblings, which I am currently writing, is what I am using to drag myself out of retirement as a writer. (I've been largely defunct since 2013.) I may write other stories as other media grabs my interest. I find reviews more fulfilling then favorites or subcribers, honestly. Especially if it's a well thought out review offering polite and helpful criticism. People writing in a way that makes it seem as though they're really into my writing is just as pleasing to me. On the otherhand, reviews like "Wow, cool story!" or "Nice. Update soon." are... okay, but I'd really appreciate it if the person taking the time to comment on a story I wrote to express themselves further then that. I'm also a Christian, and I am eternally proud of it. (Don't flame, please, have some maturity here) Thanks to a well segmented 365 Day Bible, i've read the entire Bible, (four times) it's opened my ways to a lot of truths. I try to act in ways that are pleasing to God, I really try to consider this in my daily actions, and attempt to make moral decisions that are in line with his teachings. In general, I try to embody the virtues of patience, restraint, and mercy. Regrettably, I don't have a very good track record in going to Church, but i'm hoping to fix that. Oh, and to clarify, I'm a Protestant, a Southern Baptist. I have no issues with Catholicism or any other part of Christianity, though. However, having read the whole Bible, I can comfortably say that the book never mentions a "Purgatory" after death. If I may, I'd like to present some of my more... favored... pieces of scripture. I'm quite spiritual minded, or at least I like to think so. Some of these pieces of scripture are simply striking for me, but a lot of it was integral in the forming of my perceptions and outlook on this world. This is mostly New Testament scripture. Matthew 5: 3-11 Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure of heart, for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5: 17-19 I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of the pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. Anyone who breaks one of the least of these commandments and teaches others to do the same will be called the least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of Heaven. Matthew 5: 21-22 You have heard that it was said to the people long ago “Do not murder, and anyone who murders will be subject to judgment.” But I tell you that anyone who says to his brother “Raca,” is answerable to the Sanhedrin. But anyone who says “you fool” will be in danger of the fire of hell. Matthew 5: 46-48 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get? Are not even the tax collectors doing that? And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more then others? Do not even pagans do that? Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect. Matthew 6: 5-8 And when you pray, do not be like the hypocrites, for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and on the street corners to be seen by men. I tell you the truth, they have received their reward in full. But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father, who is unseen. Then your father who sees what is done in secret, will reward you. And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words. Do not be like them, for your Father knows what you need before you ask him. 1 Corinthians 13: 1-13 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and surrender my body to the flames, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But when there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears. When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me. Now we see but a poor reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known. And now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love. John 15: 18-25 “If the world hates you, keeping mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember the words I spoke to you: ‘No servant is greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also. They will treat you this way because of my name, for they do not know the One who sent me. If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not be guilty of sin. Now, however, they have no excuse for their sin. He who hates me hates my Father as well. If I had not done among them what no one else did, they would not be guilty of sin. But now they have seen these miracles, and yet they have hated both me and my father. But this is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason. Romans 11: 17-21 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. Do not take revenge, my friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord. On the contrary: If your enemy is hungry, feed him: if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good. Romans 13: 1-14 Everyone must submit himself to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. Consequently, he who rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do will bring judgment on themselves. For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and he will commend you. Isaiah 40: 28-31 Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary, and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Ezekiel 3: 18-19 When I say to a wicked man, ‘you will surely die,’ and you do not warn him or speak out to dissuade him from his evil ways in order to save his life, that wicked man will die for his sin, and I will hold you accountable for his blood. But if you do warn the wicked man and he does not turn from his wickedness or from his evil ways, he will die for his sins; but you will have saved yourself. Hebrews 11: 11-16 By faith Abraham, even though he was past age-and Sarah herself was barren-was enabled to become a father because he considered him faithful who had made the promise. And so from this one man, and he as good as dead, came descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as countless as the sand on the seashore. All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance. And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own. If they had been thinking of the country they had left, they would have had the opportunity to return. Instead, they were longing for a better country-a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God, for he has prepared a city for them. Acts 28: 26-27 Go to the people and say, You will be ever hearing but never Understanding; You will be ever seeing but never perceiving. For this people’s heart has become calloused; They hardly hear with their ears, And they have closed their eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, Hear with their ears, Understand with their hearts And turn, and I would heal them. Luke 9: 26 If anyone is ashamed of me and my words, the Son of Man will be ashamed of him when he comes in his glory and in the glory of the Father and of the holy angels. John 5: 24-27 I tell you the truth, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life and will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life. I tell you the truth, a time is coming and has now come when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God and those who hear will live. For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son to have life in himself. And he has given him authority to judge because he is the Son of Man. There is a chance that you have heard, seen, or talked to me before, in which case you may not have the most flattering opinion of me, if your memories are from 2008 and before. I used to be a real internet pest, I won't go into detail about what I did but... well, let's just say that I used to think that a forum post count meant something. Ugh. Ahem In terms of music and songs, I have no particular preferences, I... like what I like, and I don't like what I don't like, if that makes any sense to you. Though i've noticed that I gravitate toward Classical above all other genres, and gravitate away from rap. In general I can be accepting, or at least tolerate, of all music genres, bear in mind that i'm not fond of sweary songs. I have mixed feelings for heavy metal/death metal, it can be good, and the lyrics can generally be heard reasonably well enough, but it's a massive turn-off if I can't decipher the lyrics. How are these people paid to scream or rant incoherently into a microphone? What are my favorite songs? Too many to list. I do not define myself as a 'shipper'. Only in a video game that has some kind of 'love' mechanic, like Fire Emblem and its support system, do I spend time thinking of who I think should fall for who. (Actually, Fire Emblem is essentially the only series that I seriously deal with couples in) I'm okay with most fan pairings out there. (I'm a little cynical of Nevermet Shippings and Crack Couples, though) I usually take a direct stance against what I would call a 'crossover couple'. i.e. a character from Fire Emblem romantically involved with someone from... say, Golden Sun. If the story is well-written, however, I can make an exception. I like romance stories if they can provide a good story. Though I admit to dabbling a little in the "*insert male character here* and *insert female character here* look cute together!" logic, it's far from my master rule to what pairings I like. I enjoy brain-storming and speculating on a variety of topics, mostly from the plots in the various works of fiction I enjoy, which is probably where most of my fan-fiction comes from. At any time, I usually have several things on my mind that can be turned into a nice story. However, I only focus on one story at a time. |
