Author has written 4 stories for Sookie Stackhouse/Southern Vampire Mysteries, and Fever Series. Hi. My name is Shannon and I'm a recovering SVM addict. It all started innocently enough. I was 5 months pregnant, my husband was in England and I was having trouble sleeping at night. A lot of my friends were reading SVM and watching True Blood. They would have long, heated discussions about the characters, often accompanied with panting and drooling. I thought it all sounded silly. But, I couldn't sleep, so my incredibly intelligent and bookish friend threw Dead Until Dark at me. She figured if I couldn't sleep I may as well enjoy myself. Since she had just treated me to an air-conditioned meal and a pint of ice cream how could I say no? I was hooked! Luckily she had the rest of the books and True Blood on dvd. I devoured all of it greedily! I was so crazed that I went out and bought my own copy of TB on blu-ray because I knew I couldn't live without it in my house, and eventually I'd have to return hers. Hubby came home from England to find me completely engrossed in my addiction. He had only been gone a week. He promptly sat down and started watching TB with me. I figured he'd watch an episode and leave me to it, but he really liked it. It was just quirky enough to appeal to him in a Twins Peaksish kind of way. Twin Peaks was a huge favorite of ours and we watched it religiously when we were first dating. Yes, we were babies when we started dating ;) I have to say I really enjoy watching TB with him. Speaking of him, he is an amazing husband and father to our two boys, and also a really great rockabilly dj/emcee. If you ever need a really good dj just let me know! Yes, I'm pimping out my husband - someone has to pay for my addiction which now includes the purchase of a laptop and upgrading my cable to include HBO! Hey, everyone nests in their own way. BonTemps Cutie. Yes, it is a very silly name. When I was on my 3rd go round with the SVM books I became curious about Quinn. I know, I know, don't shoot me. But since Charlaine Harris has written some short stories I thought maybe there would be one with more on Quinn. So I googled it and found FF. I started reading FF voraciously. The first story I found was FarDareisMai2 's Bonds. I had actually seen it on another site but then found it here. I desperately wanted to keep track of my favorites but the only way to do that was to set up an account and you had to create a name. I tried to come up with one that was related to Greek mythology, a passion of mine, but my pregnant brain was fried and I really jsut wanted to move on and read more and thus, BTC was born. I soon found Terri Botta and the incomparable Meg2, and I've been reading ever since. I have since met some amazing women on this site and in addition to being brilliant, they are funny as hell. I've followed them over to twitterland as, who else, BonTempsCutie. You should join us! A NEW ADDICTION... And like a good addict, I have developed a new vice - the Night Huntress Series by the brilliant Jeaniene Frost. My good friends SallyDoodle and Samarareads turned me onto NH and I've been hooked ever since. I've managed to so something positive with this addiction however and have begun writing with another good friend, the very talented tradermare. We both fell hard for Mega Master Vampire and Egyptian Pharaoh Mencheres. Our writings center around him and the lovely Kira Graceling. You can check out our stories here OTD4500. ANOTHER ADDICTION... Have you read the Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning? OMG it's fantabulous! Talk about plots within plots, and the attention to detail will have you wracking your brain as you try and keep track of it all. And just when you think you've got it all figured out, she throws you over the cliff and keeps on driving! To say this series is a rollercoaster ride on steroids is an understatement. And because my writing partner, tradermare, and I are completely hooked, I've written a fic and might have more in the works...and I have mentioned how bloody HOT I think JZB is? Enjoy! UPDATE! I haven't written much fanfic lately because I'm working on my own PNR. That's the great thing about fanfic - it gives you the ability to practice and get feedback, for which I thank you for. Even if you don't like my story the feedback helps. Feel free to chat me up here or on twitter where I'm usually tweeting about sports and books. Although lately it's mostly sports! |
