Update (16/10/2013): So... been a while. I've ended up putting AB on the backburner for the 4th time (if I've counted right). It WILL be written one day, but for now I'm working on another book. I've been making much more progress on it than I managed on AB, so I hope to be done with the first draft, at least, by the Summer, but we'll see how we go. The book's titled Black Star, and I may say more when I'm further through writing it.

Update (14/05/2013): Just a small update as I haven't put one up for ages. Due to my university exams, progress on AB is going slowly, but it's going gradually on. I also have a second, as-of-yet unnamed book in the planning stage and a short story which I'm not sure what to do with.

Update (18/01/2013): Pertaining to a request for character permissions, I will make a few things clear: any original characters appearing in any of my FanFiction stories, or those on FictionPress may be used in any of your own FF stories or any other purposes, with the following restrictions (I've put them in full just to be on the safe side):

1. For permissions to use the characters Misty and Lumi, permission must be acquired from Mistman_X and Illuminati_47. I believe the latter are their usernames on this site. As I developed most of the characterisation, they are mine, but due to their being openly based on those two, I give permission conditional on their consent. In the case of Chewy, I can't really claim him due to the Star Wars thing, so you can use him.

2. All characters must be attributed appropriately. You may not claim them as your own characters, and they are to be regarded as my intellectual property for all purposes.

3. The characters may only be used in non-profit productions. Non-profit includes anything for charities, and anything you do not directly gain profit from (stories, for example, which are hosted on sites which gain profit from advertising, are fine). If you were to want to use any of my characters for a production on which you make revenue, please contact me regarding it (I may or may not really care... depends on what exactly you're doing).

On another note, I've got to the end of Chapter 4 of AB. I'm still hoping to complete the book by the end of this year, and depending on the length in the end, I might split it into two books.

Update (19/12/2012): I am currently working on my first book. I will keep you guys posted about anything major, and will post one-shots alongside major updates. My first book will be a complete rework of a story I wrote for FictionPress: AB. The book will be titled 'AB.' I'm going to try to finish it over the course of the next year, and see if I can get it published by the end of 2014 (assuming I can find a company willing to publish it...).

I have one or two other ideas for books, which I will be writing a bit when I run out of creativity for AB, but AB will my main focus until it's finished. If you want updates on how it's going, I suggest that you add me to your alert list. Basically all my story updates on this site from now on will be one-shots alongside updates on my writing.

A few other things: if and when AB is published, as with any books I will write, I will have it published under my real name, not as 'Satoru Klein' or 'Der Blaue Wolf,' so don't be surprised if it does make it to the shops under an unfamiliar name. Second, as I live in the UK, anything I get published at first will likely only be available, in relatively small quantities and from the UK, so to my American fans (who I believe make up most of my fairly small fanbase), you may have to import it... but don't let that discourage you (please, I'll need every book-sale I can get *puppy-dog eyes*).

A Bad Hand (Shuffle! fic) COMPLETED

The Four Players

A group of four, who's games of bridge determine fate, though they themselves do not understand why they do it. This includes the fates of the characters of Shuffle!. One such game determined the outcome of Rin's decision four years ago. Each has a 'trump' card, with a picture of one of the girls on it.

Fenrir: Ookami. Won the previous game four years ago. Obscures his face with a mask. He is easily irritated by minor things, and is very calculating, while Rin notes that he holds little human sense of right and wrong. He does not like the fact that the four of them are playing with these fates for a second time, and has a twisted connection to Rin and friends. He gets bored of the games of fate easily, although he has never lost a game. His trump card is the queen of Spades: Asa.

Wodin: a god. He lost only narrowly four years ago. Tries to enjoy his existance as much as possible. Jovial most of the time. His trump card is the queen of hearts: Sia.

Ask: a human. Third in the game four years ago. Normally calm, though his anger is considerable when you push him. His trump card is the queen of diamonds: Kaede.

Loki: a demon. Came last in the game four years ago. Is only there to do his job, which he is very bad at. Always calm, however hard you push him. His trump card is the queen of clubs: Nerine.

Re:Shuffle

Risago Tsuchimi: Son of Rin and Asa. Generally quite similar to his father.

Tsute Fuyou: Daughter of Kaede and Sia. Generally calm and reserved. Risago's childhood friend.

Lupi Urufu: Daughter of Nerine. Excitable and always in a hurry. An Ookami from her father's side. Risago's childhood friend. Hates Lilisu.

Lilisu: Demon pure-blood. Rather snobbish, especially towards part-bloods. Hates Lupi.

Chewy: A friend's insert character. Just like everyone's favourite wookie, but likes to ask odd questions.

Ookami: a magical race, their powers vary, from mind-reading and control, to elemental control. All have the ability to transform into a wolf.
