Hi everyone!

I'm trying out my hand at writing stories. If you have any suggestions for improvement (mechanics, style, plot holes, etc.), please don't hesitate to let me know. This is my first fanfic story and if all goes well it might end up as a trilogy.

Naruto: Bijuu Chronicles

Premise: What if the Kyuubi was not simply an evil mass of sentient chakra, but an extremely smart one, with goals further than simply breaking out of its cage? And what if the Tajuu Kage Bunshin no Jutsu was the third technique in the Forbidden Scroll?

Note I: This is a very long story (300k words), and it should stand alone on its own. I've crafted the plot to fit a trilogy, though I can't guarantee the next two stories will ever be written.

Note II: I realize that I haven't published in well over a month now. I apologize for the delay. Don't worry, though, I am still writing (in fact, I'm at chapter 22 for new stuff) and am still confident I'll finish at least this story (and I'm currently inclined to finish the entire trilogy as well, though how I feel after I've finished this story is still unknown). The reason I'm withholding the chapter is because NekoKaru has graciously accepted to beta my work and is currently going over chapter 16. I believe I've learned quite a bit already, though how much I've retained remains to be seen :). We (NekoKaru and I) have gone through the first half twice already, and if all goes well, I'll publish it as a chapter by itself. The word count certainly is climbing fast enough to warrant splitting the chapter in two (~10k words for the original draft became 7k just for the first half).

Note III: Some new-ish developments in the canon threw me completely off my game for a long while. To be honest, I haven't even started writing more in Chapter 22... That's how shocked I was. I even considered abandoning this story. The reason is that I thought I was very clever with a particular plot twist (won't spoil the surprise here), but canon pretty much threw that out. It's both too similar for originality (way too similar!), and too dissimilar for me to smooth over the differences and adopt canon. So in the end, I decided to put focus back on my main plot device and just ignore how awful that plot twist will now seem to everyone. And BTW, this means that the next chapter (Oto Invasion III, part 2) will be up as soon as I proofread what I just uploaded.
