Just putting this out there:

- When a new writer takes command of a pre-existing franchise or series, they tend to lash out in the form of killing off or making the canon couple/author's pet have a minuscule role in the story. I think they do this to show that it's THEIR story now and the plot of the former author is no longer relevant in their world/views/values/etc.

- When something big happens in society, writers just have the urge to ingrain it into their story or plot, I don't mind it at all until you find out they would butcher a character to just prove a point [i.e. Mako from LoK] causing the series to spiral in something less than adequate.

I think this theory for Code Geass, Lelouch's Harem, would be if he were to marry these women his life would revolve around:

Lelouch x C.C. = His ambition for global change (the series)

Lelouch x Kallen = If he chose the life of a rebel

Lelouch x Kaguya = If he chose the life in politics

Lelouch x Shirley = If he chose to live a normal life

ANIME / MANGA / EVERYTHING ELSE THEORIES [Warning spoilers and my conjectures/opinions]

- D. Gray Man : Road Kamelot is the bride or lover to the 14th Noah

- Date A Live : Kurumi Tokisaki exists in multiple timelines, I think she was Shido's lover at one point and snapped mentally when she lost him when she turned spirit. Thus, she want's to stop the creation of the Spirits so at least in one timeline it ends happily for her and Shido.

- Code Geass : Lelouch is alive.

- Final Fantasy VII : When Cloud and Tifa have kids, any of the boys are going to end up looking like Zack. Also, Vincent and Yuffie are a couple.

- Code Geass: Akito the Exiled : A happy ending. I do believe that Code Geass R1/R2 is a masterpiece but it was just so unsatisfying emotionally and the reason for the 5 movies was to fill that void.

- Fire Emblem; Mystery of the Emblem : Marry for love, my avid readers and you can avoid the DarkSphere.

- Metroid series : Samus Aran is now the Metroid Queen. The next entries in the Metroid series will be Samus now has a bounty on her head by the Federation; Metroid : Rogue.

- Fire Emblem Awakening : Nah wasn't left to her father's friend's home, instead she was placed there whilst he fought during an ambush.

- Fire Emblem Fates : The trio that went to Fates are actually from the Xenologue : The Future Past; therefore not the ones you paired up in the Awakening campaign. Fates is connected to Shadows of Valentia and Blazing Sword worlds as well since Dread Fighters Witches are from Valm and the Dragon's Gate is the center piece in Blazing Sword.
