(Thanks guys. You're the best.)

Ok, so I'm British, I don't have a cockney accent, nor do I speak like the Queen. My teeth are perfectly fine, and I eat fish and chips about once every couple of weeks. Nothing irritates me more than people who promote this ridiculous stereotype. I've been seeing more and more of it lately, and I urge people to challenge it. It's a load of tosh! Other than that tiny pet hate, I'm pretty much a cheerful person.

There isn't really that much to say about me, except that I love reading books and I enjoy writing. Why do I like writing? Because I can't think of any other way of playing God without being subjected to horrific consequences. "You shall suffer," said she, "and you will like it!" ... That's not some weird kinky thing, but I must admit, watching fictional characters in horrendous circumstances does make me feel better about my own life. When things get really bad, I bring out Candide. Then I realise I'm actually doing ok.

I have a peculiar imagination, and I am a very visual person. Whenever I'm cooking up a plot-line, I usually stuff my headphones in my ears and listen to music befitting of the scene I'm trying to visualise. When I do this, the world around me virtually disappears. I could be standing in a room overflowing with clutter and I probably wouldn't see any of it. The only problem with this method is that I tend to use it on my way to work, and usually I respond emotionally to whatever I see in my imagination. So, if the scene I'm cooking up involves:

- a battle between good and evil, I literally scowl whenever the bad guy in my head gets one up on the hero. Unfortunately, this tends to frighten the people I pass in the street.

- the death of a character I love, or a particularly emotional event, my eyes get all watery. I've found that people tend to hate this as much as they do my death snarl, perhaps because it makes them feel awkward.

- something particularly hilarious, I cackle like a crazy person. People generally give me a wide berth whenever this happens.

- good triumphing over evil, I grin like a crocodile. While that sounds somewhat non-threatening, imagine having that kind of toothy simle directed at you by a complete stranger.

In summation, I frighten people.
