Author has written 1 story for Teen Titans. INFORMATION: NAME: Anony Miss. That's all you're getting you would-be stalkers... I have a fictionpress account that features my original writing and stories. Check it out! http://www.fictionpress.info/u/192411/ THINGS THAT BOTHER ME: 1) People who misspell the names of the characters in the genres they are "fanficing". For example... Beast Boy - Note that it is two words. Not "BeastBoy", not "Beastboy", nor any hyphenated equivalent such as "Beast-boy" or "Beast-Boy". Starfire - Note that this is one word. Not "Star Fire", not "Star-fire" and least of all "StarFire". If something is one word, you do not capitalize a letter in the very middle, unless it's a brand name or something. 2) People who spell "Okay" (the word that generally means "I agree", "I approve", or “mediocre”) as "OK". Yes, I know that the spell-checker ignores it and it's technically acceptable in writing. But I still have the right to be annoyed by it and the right to bitch and moan about it. Mostly, this annoys me because when a writer tries to have a character say "OK" in a "Well-that's-just-crazy" tone of voice with a dragged out last syllable they inevitably write "OKKKKKKKKK" which looks horrible. Letters repeated just to show that the sound of them is drawn out is incredibly pathetic. With the exception of "AAAAAAARRRRGGGGGGHHHH" and other sounds of pain and agitation because of the genius that is Bill Watterson, bless his retired-from-Calvin-and-Hobbes soul. 3) When you get this fantastic, wonderful, creative idea for a fanfic, write it up with enthusiasm and a renewed vigour for life, and find out that... Someone else came up with the idea first. Damnation. 4) People who sensor their swears. For example "bitch" as "b!tch", or "damn" as "d@mn", or mother-fucker as "mother-@#$er". Or just plain "@#$ing" symbols in place of letter because they don't want to appear rude for putting swears into their writing. Don't do this. It offends me that you sensor the swears, because you're insulting my intelligence. Like I won't be able to figure out what "b!tch" means. If you are so insecure with yourself that you won't be able to handle it if someone tells you that they are offended by the language that you use, you're not going to have the backbone to handle any flames that come your way, so you might as well just quit writing. 5) People who can't handle homonyms. The occasional mix-up is fine. I know I do it too. But I can't stand the people who do it repeatedly. For the record, homonyms are words that sound the same when said, but often differ in spelling and meaning. Like: "Their", "there", and "they're". The first is possessive as in "The kittens lost their mittens." The second is used to describe a place that is not where you are now as in "My friends are already there." The last one is a contraction. It is used to put together two words "they" and "are" because people are lazy creatures who can't say the two as separate words. I am one of these lazy people. If you are one of the people who get mixed up with homonyms, just avoid contractions and that will be one less thing to worry about. "Two", "to" and "too". Oh, please. This is basic. "Two" meaning the number "2". "To" usually meaning "towards", "reaching as far as", or "in relation to". There are other ways to use "to". I just don't want to list them all. "Too" is usually used as "also", "more than enough" and "very". You would be surprised by the number of people who do this. 6) Creators who don't want what they create to be used in fanfiction coughAnneMcCaffreyAnneRicecough. I respect that they don't want people to molest their characters and ideas. But they should be fucking flattered that I even want to bother. Crazies. 7) People who think I claim to have never had problems with any of the things I complain about, or that I claim to be perfect. I'm not perfect, I've made these mistakes many times myself. I'm just a bitch exercising her freedom of speech to be hypocritical. A huge bitch. And I don't care. Muahahahaha!8) All of the stupid Mary-Sue-ish characters I want to put into a fanfic. Fucking self-insertion. 9) People who write stories that have nothing to do with the original characters and the original storyline. Like Hermione is a princess and Ron/Harry/Draco is a prince that she must wed, or Kagome is a demon princess and Inuyasha is a mortal, or (the very worst kind) “I’ve taken the characters from this show/cartoon/comic/book and made them into regular teenagers in a boarding school” type stories. Usually, the characters act nothing like themselves. Or the school is having a play, which is always “Romeo and Juliet”. The main reason it’s usually a boarding school is so that the boys can sneak into the girls’ rooms, or the girls can sneak into the boys’ rooms, or someone stumbles upon someone else having a shower. If you want to write a story about characters that are regular teenagers or royalty, write about that, but it isn’t real fanfiction if all your characters have in common with the fanfiction genre is the name and physical description. Just write an original story, please. I AM IN DESPERATE NEED OF: 1) Initiative. 2) A beta-reader when I actually get the initiative to write about something so the beta-reader can look over it. INFO ON FANFICS: "Click, Clack, Swish: A Christmas Romance" is not going to be updated with a new chapter. Rather, I've decided to write a series of one-shots that lead to a Beast Boy/Raven story with MULTIPLE chapters! COMING SOON (Hopefully...): Muddled Muggle: A Harry Potter fanfic about a muggle girl whose witch aunt leaves her a magical inheritence by mistake. It is going to be a humour fic with lots of denial about the existence of magic. A Life Like The Sea: Pirates of the Caribbean fanfic Various Unnamed Teen Titans Fanfics that are Beast Boy/Raven pairings |
