Author has written 2 stories for Rurouni Kenshin.

Residence: California, USA

Gender: Female

Age: 19

Interests:

Music Interests: Muse, Evanescence, HIM, The Rasmus, Lacuna Coil, Kerli, Marilyn Manson, Three Days Grace, Hinder, Within Temptation, Metallica, Rush, Styx, Journey, Genesis, Queen, Sweet, Nadia Oh, 3OH!3, Cash Cash, Lady GaGa, Black Eyed Peas, Flo Rida, Metro Station, Shiny Toy Guns, Britney Spears (her new stuff), Justin Timberlake, Sohodolls, Benton Paul, Death Cab for Cutie, Blue October, Coldplay, Keane, The Hush Sound, Emmy Rossum, Charlotte Sometimes, Katy Perry (and no, its NOT just I Kissed a Girl and Hot N' Cold. I knew her before she was played on the radio, thankyouverymuch), Vampire Weekend, and an assortment of hip-hop artists and other random weird music. Obviously, my taste has a VERY broad range.

Book Interests: There is WAY too many to list here, but the major ones that come to mind are the Harry Potter series, the Anita Blake series (before she became a total whore. Then I stopped reading cause the plots were just dumb), the Blue Bloods series, Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, Catch-22, the House of Night series, Blood and Chocolate (the movie SUCKED. don't watch it), A Great and Terrible Beauty (and the rest of the books in the series. GREAT story. I highly reccomend it) and other random things. I'm sure there are a lot more prominent ones I like, I just can't remember them right now to save my life. I've read a lot of random vampire stories. Doesn't matter how dumb they are, I still fall for them every time. Except Twilight. Geez, shoot me in the face. I'm not going to lie, I enjoyed the books when I read them and I own all four, but... I can't get over the whole pop-culture that's been created because of them and how everyone is suddenly in love with these sparkly vampires. Uhm, HELLO. Vampires were once these sexy, dangerous creatures that were so incredibly irresistable because of how BAD they were, and yet how tantalizing and delicious they were. What happened to the suave, sexy vampires? Now the whole world is claiming to love vampires, but if you stick a legit fangs-and-coffins vampire book in front of a Twilight fan's nose and make them read it, they'll probably pee their pants. Sorry. I'm obviously very opinionated when it comes to Twilight. :P No offense meant to anyone who IS a Twi-hard or whatever they're called. I like the books, I'm just fed up with the pre-teen obsession over them.

Enough of MY opinionated rants... I've probably alienated half the people out there now. :P Sorry. Just know that none of MY vampires sparkle. (Or look like they're sweating in the sunlight... I'm sorry, I just can't help but laugh at the movie. I mean really--he's all "Look at me, I'm a monster" and I'm sitting there thinking "You just look like a very sweaty man rather than a sparkly vampire") Again--I can't help it. I like to watch the movie because I find it thoroughly entertaining. It's like a comedy. :)

Most of my stories are not fanfics, so they won't be posted here. They'll be posted on http://www.fictionpress.info/~makeupgirl, so feel free to check those out! My best works are those that are my own original stories (at least, I believe they are :P), and so I write those the most. The story I am most proud of that I've completed is called Pleasure Palace, which you can find on FictionPress. I've only written a couple fanfics, so not too much will go up here.

My Stories:

Almost all of my stories have been inspired by dreams I've had. I'll usually dream up something fantastic and I'll wake up with that wow-that-was-incredible feeling, and I want to share it with everyone because it felt so amazing. So I'll often go straight to my trusty laptop and begin writing out the events of my dream. Of course, you all know how dreams work, and they rarely make sense once you stop and think about it (though they made perfect sense while you were asleep) and there are huge gaps and rarely an ending. So that's when my own creative abilities had to come into play and I had to fill in the gaps, explain the random impracticality of the stories, and make a beginning and ending. When I'm done, I'm usually left with a pretty good story (if I do say so myself :P).

The Accomplice: (summary) Kaoru Kamiya is a normal high school senior, concerned only with avoiding her mother's horrible English grammar and history lessons on her heritage. When assigned a research project by her most hated teacher, Hiko, she's downright pissed that she's been given the topic her mother is always trying to teach her about. She reluctantly begins her research and finds a name that interests her--the Hitokiri Battousai. Along with this name, she's surprised to find her own name listed as an accomplice to the Battousai. It's rumored that the Battousai killed his accomplice shortly before his mysterious disappearance at the end of the revolution. When Kaoru wakes up the next morning, she's face with a shocking new reality--she is the Battousai's accomplice, and she's no longer living in her own time. Faced with this new lifestyle and the knowledge that her namesake will die at her new partner's hands, Kaoru begins a journey full of fear, heartache, turmoil, and love.

(spoiler alert!) This was probably one of my most vivid dreams (and probably the most sensible too :P). This was when I had just finished watching rurouni kenshin for the first time and was on a major fanfic reading streak. :P I dreamed that Kaoru was from our time, and then, of course, my dream skipped ahead and somehow she was miraculously with Kenshin in the past. Her character remained an ignorant girl from the future who knew nothing about the past, however, so I knew I wasn't just having two separate dreams. :P The most vivid scene I had in my dream (that was the majority of the dream) was the scene in which Kaoru gives up Kenji to Kenshin and sacrifices herself. In my dream, I watched it from the viewpoint of Kaoru and felt the terrible weight and sadness of knowing that she/I was going to die in a moment and that she/I would forever be parted from her/my only love and her/my son, and that horrible, awful moment when she/I had to reluctantly hand her/my son to Kenshin, knowing she/I would never hold him again. That feeling was so real and intense in my dream, that when (in the dream) she/I was pierced by the sword, I woke up breathless and afraid, wondering where my son was and if my husband was alright. Of course, I soon realized that A. I'm not Kaoru, B. I'm not married, C. I don't have a son, and D. No way did I ever live in Japan OR that time period, and so naturally, it must have been a very realistic dream. And, as with all of my realistic dreams that get me to wake up wondering where on earth my imaginary son is, I had to write it. :P And so I filled in the blanks of my dream and added the ending, and although I'm a total sap and love happy endings, what I love more is bittersweet endings, because it leaves you longing for more (and I think that is truly what makes a good writer--someone who can write something that effects you so deeply that your emotions become intertwined with the story). I already knew that Kaoru would be forever parted from Kenshin and Kenji (as that had been the pinnacle of my dream), and so I knew this wouldn't be a happy ending. So I gave it some closure (I don't like thoroughly depressing endings, after all :P) and called it a day. :P

Dawn In The Night: (summary) Kenshin Himura is lost. His only love and reason to live, Kaoru Kamiya, has just been killed to save him and their son, Kenji. Faced with this scary and hopeless reality, Kenshin begins his journey to find himself again. Given journals by Tomoe, Kenshin records all of his thoughts of despair and hopelessness in its pages, hoping to somehow gain comfort from it. Dawn in the Night is the journal of Kenshin Himura, as well as memories from Tomoe as she grieves over her husband's death, and attempts to raise Kenji, take care of a despondent Kenshin, and come to terms with the fact that the man she is now caring for is the murderer responsible for her sorrow.

(spoiler alert!) This one... is not my proudest work, let me just say from the beginning. I had finished The Accomplice probably a year or two before I even started this one, and I was simply going through my stories and deleting the totally useless ones that would go nowhere (I kept some useless ones though, just because I'd put so much work into them and couldn't bear to delete something 200+ pages long :P). I reread the Accomplice and thought "dang... I wanna know what Kenshin did once she left!" After all, he just falls out of the picture at the end and is left in the dust, crouched in the forest with their son watching Kaoru die. So I thought "Well hey! At the end of The Accomplice, Kaoru receives Kenshin's journal! Perhaps I could MAKE Kenshin's journal!" And so I did. And... let me tell you, I get depressed every time I read that thing. It usually takes me about a day or two to recover after reading it. 1. It's horribly depressing for... well, pretty much the entire thing because Kenshin is so sad and 2. I was not altogether proud of my writing quality in this one, and 3. It seems kind of plot-less to me, which irks me to no end. However, I thought to myself, "This is a journal, right? It's not SUPPOSED to have a plot! And since it's a journal, of COURSE it would be depressing, because this is where Kenshin would pour out all of his misery and suffering, because he would never want to burden Tomoe with it! And journals don't always have the best writing quality, right?" As you can see, I love to justify things to myself. :P And so it stayed the way it was, and I posted it, because I know people were wanting more after The Accomplice. However, I apologize profusely if it wasn't quite up to par with what you all expected. Let me just say: I wasn't too thrilled with the end product either :P But this is less of a novel and more of an exploration of human emotion. :)

I really would suggest checking out my other works on FictionPress if you want something else (and something better :P) to read, because that's where the majority of my work will be going, since I don't really specialize in fanfics. Thanks for your support, and please please please review! I always love to hear your comments, whether they be good or bad, so that I know if people actually like it or not. Enjoy!
