i read lots, and write some. i really, really, really hate how many stories exist with strong plots and interesting dialogue and absolutely insufferable grammar and punctuation. it may sound pretentious, but that really ruins a good story for me. i've a degree in graphic design and fine arts, and several years experience in newspaper layout and editing.

i'm a sucker for the old world and have a fascination with children's classics (especially alice and narnia), modern children's classics (his dark materials, harry potter), a wide range of literature, and traditional fairy tales and fables (as opposed to the modernized versions). i also have a guilty pleasure in strong, character-driven television (i.e. bones, ncis).

given my history in art, i sometimes come off harshly in critique. don't take it personally. if i take the time to review, it's generally because i liked your story as a whole; if i don't like your writing, i'll give up reading it.

i've got a bunch of journals i carry around to clear my mind when things get too jumbled. i'll be working on digitizing them and posting some stories soon, hopefully.
