Author has written 7 stories for Stargate: SG-1. I think it's harder writing about myself than it is writing about fictional people, but here goes... I've been writing stories here and there for years, but I kind of gave it up a few years ago, thinking I wasn't really that good at it and feeling plum uninspired. It wasn't until I discovered fan fiction that I found that particular fire could burn again. I don't know why, but it had never occurred to me that you could write about characters other people created and have fun doing it. I read the fiction online for a few months and then inspiration hit. I've been writing almost every day since. I owe it all to my love for Stargate. If only my parents knew... watching television did amount to something. My muse has returned in full force and I hope she never leaves me again. My tastes are pretty eclectic in all things. I listen to classical music, heavy metal, alternative, pop, country, new age, show tunes... you name it, it's on my iPod. The same goes for TV and movies. I'll watch just about anything... except horror. I don't like it when things pop out at me. I figure there's enough in life that scares me; I don't need any help with that. I don't like sad endings. I'll watch them, but I don't like them. I know there's a beauty that lies in despair, but it's a beauty best left for someone else to appreciate. I'm a fan of the happy ending... which is why I have to really screen my anime. I guess if I had to pick some favorite movies, they'd have to be "The Princess Bride," "Ever After," "The Shawshank Redemption," "Tombstone," "Office Space," "Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon" (I understand this makes me a hypocrite), "Bridget Jones Diary," and "Airplane." "Star Wars" and "The Lord of the Rings" exist in their own universe apart from all others. I completely choose to remain in denial that George Lucas ever created any movies after the original three. If he did, it would mean that the master had killed his creation and I would be forced to lose my respect for the man. I have recently fallen in love with "Avatar," and can't wait for it to hit DVD. I don't watch TV much anymore. I spend most of the time in front of the small screen watching DVDs of shows since departed. I do watch reality tv, though I've toned down how much. The ones I still watch include "America's Next Top Model," "Top Chef," and "Project Runway." Aside from that, I love to watch "Smallville," "Buffy," "Angel," "Firefly," "Stargate SG-1," "Stargate Altantis," "Farscape," the new "Battlestar Galactica," "Alias," "Bones," "The Nanny," and "Lois and Clark." As far as reading goes, I tend to read a lot of young adult books since I teach middle school reading. I do occasionally get to read an adult novel as well. Some of my favorite authors include J.K Rowling, JD Robb, Janet Evanovich, Maggie Shayne, Christine Feehan, and Jennifer Weiner. I have finished two Stargate SG-1 novels: "The Ninth Chevron," which was my first ever complete story, and "Do Not Go Gentle." I think "Gentle" is my favorite of the two. I started working on its sequel called "Once the Twilight," but it has been so long since I touched it, that I think it's probably dead in the water. I have added a beta reader profile.
