![]() Author has written 5 stories for Kim Possible, Fillmore, Teen Titans, and Dragon Ball Z. I'm Random Inspiration. This is my pen name due to my inspiration for story ideas have no real rhyme or reason as to why they popped into my head. The one's I like I author or co-author stories on. My writing beliefs: 1) While I love reading reviews to see what people think and how they are emotionally reacting to my story, that isn't the reason why I write my stories. I write my stories because I believe the story itself is any interesting tale. The story itself should be enough reason to write it. 2.) I don't subscribe to the school of thought that chapters need have a max/min amount of words (ex. chapters must be 1,000 words). Instead, I think of a chapter as a collection of thoughts. Questions I would ask myself are: What are the thoughts of this chapter? What needs to happen before the focus moves on to my next collection of thoughts (aka next chapter)? 3.) I believe in my writing process, which is simple, but picky. I only write as I have the inspiration for the chapters. Unless it is the final chapter, at minimum I post a chapter behind what I have written. This allows me to check on the flow of the entire story and not just each individual chapter. I believe this prevents it from being choppy or contradictory. My biggest step is to read the chapter without pen in hand or keyboard by fingertips. If I can't read my own story as a reader, then the chapter is not ready for posting. It is a little time consuming and I will tend to have long hiatuses if I do not have the inspiration for the next chapters, but I also have spurts of quickly posting chapters when the inspriation is flowing. I will never force a chapter down on paper for the sake of writing a chapter. Quality over Quantity. Some questions I ask myself are: What is the goal of the story? Basically what is the idea I'm trying to convey to the reader. Is it comedy with romance? Is it suspense? Just a general story? What kind of character development I want to see in my story. Where do I want the characters to wind up by the end of the story both physically and in a personal growth sense? What changes do I want to see happen during or at the end of the story? What personalites do I wish to convery for my original characters? 4.) I believe strongly in doing one's research about characters. I will rewatch episodes to make sure I am remembering things correctly and pick up on some things I might want to use in a story. I find it helpful to have a memo flip pad to keep notes in for quick reference. Some things would be like in "Kim Possible" Ron's royalties check from Bueno Nacho was 99 millinon dollars or a list of details I want to use for places or people I create (like Northern Shore University). Other Stuff I appreciate reviews, but I really don't like reviews that say I liked or I didn't like the story/chapter. To me, while nice, those kind of reviews won't help me to grow as a writer. By stating WHY you like or dislike the chapter is a much more beneficial review. It gives me the details I need to keep doing what makes individuals like the chapters or change what is making them dislike the chapters. So, PLEASE if you read one of my stories, tell me WHY you like or don't like what you are reading. If you're the kind of person to write reviews as you read the chapter and not at the end, I appreciate you too. Knowing the emotional reactions you have as you read the story also helps me to understand how my writing is coming across. All in all, I like stories that have romance in them. My favorite all-time pairing is Gohan-Videl in Dragonball Z. I like some other pairings too, but that is my favorite. So much so that I am writing a story for them by hand. Then taking the time to type/edit it before the Beta round. I hope that it will be my best work. Aside from Gohan-Videl, other pairings I like are Kim-Ron (Kim Possible), Fillmore-Ingrid (Fillmore), Beast Boy-Raven (Teen Titans), and Sonic-Amy (Sonic the Hedgehog). I'll probably eventually write a fan fic for each of these pairings, but it will be slow due to my process. Thank you for visting my profile page and I bid you tidings of joy all year long. If you are inspired to create art based on one of my stories, please share it. If you let me know, I will post a link to the art here in my profile so people can see your wonderful creation(s). I also plan to commission title pages for Demon and the Beast and Endearing Irony once I finish writing each of those stories.
