Author has written 24 stories for Airwolf. I first saw Airwolf back in 1984/85 when it came out here in the UK, and was absolutely bowled over by JMV, still falling in fact, not hit the ground yet, have to admit, but maybe this isn't the place to go there ... There was just something so magical about the whole show, that wonderful machine, and those complex characters, as well as the dirty dealings and espionage, it's so hard to believe looking back just how paranoid we all were about the Russians. Time has moved on and the world has new villans now I suppose. I have to admit that I like my Airwolf classic, a la mode, unadulterated Season 1, with just Dom and String and the Lady, when it was all so new and exciting and we were learning about the characters, so I tend to write stories set around that time because I can embellish and develop the characters in my own way without tripping up over facts that were revealed in later episodes. I never really came to terms with the introduction of Cait, although I can't say I absolutely hate her, I did, however, absolutely hate the idea that she and String might get it on ... sorry, but there you go. Never did get to see all the episodes over here as they cancelled it and it disappeared into oblivion, after first being stuck away on the Saturday morning schedule along with the kids programmes, and never got to see Season 4 at all, so that was a blessing! I now have all three seasons on dvd and refer back to them often in my writing research, and although it still doesn't really sit well, I have come to accept that a lot of you guys out there really embraced the idea of String and Cait and saw it as a way to keep the characters and the Airwolf world alive after Blackjack, so, I think that's just great, whatever floats your boat as they say, and it would be a terrible world if we all liked the same things and only embraced one point of view. Thank you for taking an interest in my stories. Any reviews would be welcome. Still have much to learn and would be grateful for any factual information anyone could offer, such as how long does it take Airwolf to fly 150 miles (not using turbo) and what kind of handguns did Hawke and Santini use, and stuff like that. I'm not very good at technical stuff, but I am a stickler for detail and getting my facts right, which is very frustrating when you can't find what you need on the net, so if you can help, that would be terrific. I cut my writing teeth on romantic fiction so as well as the usual action and adventure, my stories generally have an element of romance, a damsel in distress, or a strong female character who can help Hawke and Santini out of trouble, after all, that Stringfellow Hawke was a real dish and he could certainly attract the ladies, but as in the show, he always lives to save another damsel in distress on another day. Confirmed bachelor he may be, but that doesn't mean that he lived in a monastery! |
