Author has written 5 stories for Hana Yori Dango, Troy, and Anne of Green Gables series. I love writing. My first 'written piece' was on the back of a drawing block when I was six years old, and it was about Enid Blyton's 'Famous Five'. I showed it to my father and, overlooking the obvious inconsistencies in grammar and spelling, he told me he was proud of the story. My passion for writing began at that point. I think what makes writing so wonderful is that I can exist in two worlds, the fictional and the non-fictional. I can spend my hours on the train to school planning my characters' lives and listening to their dialogue in my head. I can look at the ugly modern buildings and honking cars and see instead the beautiful harbour and lighthouse star that the immortal L.M. Montgomery describes. I can take real emotions, real situations, and form them into sentences in my head. It's like having a fantasy world that I can escape to whenever I feel like it. But best of all, in writing I can delve into the basics of a character's personality - be that character my own invention or the invention of another author - and figure out what makes him or her behave in a certain way. My favourite authors are L.M. Montgomery for her heartwarming stories of lives and people in little Canadian villages, Pearl S. Buck for her insightful and thought-provoking works on historic issues and human nature, Stephen Ambrose for the absolutely brilliant 'Band of Brothers', Helen Fielding for creating one of my favourite literary characters, Bridget Jones, and Jane Austen for her clever, satirical observations of people. I write fanfic to honour the authors, books and movies that I particularly enjoy, to get to know their characters and situations in my own way, and I do sincerely hope that my writing will be enjoyed by some...for there is nothing better than others appreciating your work! I hope you like what I have down here. |
