Author has written 4 stories for Lord of the Rings, Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog, Justice League, and Avengers. Hello everyone, I don't spend time consistently on this site and my profile always seems to be 3-4 years out of date, so take this with a grain of salt. I'm currently a graduate student at the University of Edinburgh studying linguistics and psychology. I am fascinated by language, its history and character, and how we use it, especially the phenomenon of linguistically based synaesthesia. Also, I quite like archery and Jeremy Renner. (This, for the record, is a dramatic understatement.) Briefly about my stories: Enemies: In progress. I was fascinated from the start with how Loki goes from being hunted and on the run to almost taking over the world. All evidence indicates that Hawkeye makes it happen, in just about every respect (except for the sciencey stuff, of course). The story follows Hawkeye from before Loki to after the invasion. No slash or much romance at all, and not even too much angst, I promise. Aftermath of Victory: Complete. I was quite upset by the appearance of the Elves at Helm's Deep, but having a special affection for Haldir, Orophin, and Rumil, I was inspired nevertheless to take a look at how the aftermath would have been for them. Two Years: Complete. This sketch came to me literally in the middle of the night, just as I was going to sleep. I have recently updated the original chapter to make it a bit longer/clearer, but I have no plans for continuing it. Monitor Duty: Complete. Born out of pondering about how to maintain a secret identity and the revealing-identities scene in "Starcrossed" that always makes me smile. |
