![]() Author has written 43 stories for Harry Potter, Chronicles of Narnia, and Hunger Games. Hi there people, I figured I'd procrastinated long enough, so here is a little profile page just in case you were wondering what sort of crazy personage I am. Name: Cat Age:30 Place of residence: Canberra, Australia. Right, having a bit of a rant about some of the things that annoy me in Harry Potter Fan Fiction: 1) People not bothering to check for cannon information, especially for post-war happenings. This broadly includes who marries who, who their children are, and their names (and in some cases ages), etc. The two that I find most frequently are Neville and Luna being married (people, JKR explicitly said that there never was and never will be anything between them beyond friendship, and that their respective partners are Hannah Abbott and Rolf Scamander), and fics that portray Teddy Lupin as a werewolf (once again, stated by the almighty creator that he was NOT, but that he was a metamorphmagus) Now, some of you might say that this is fanfiction, and that AU is perfectly acceptable. I am not having a go at AUers, I am complaining about the people that say in their summary that their story is cannon, but don't bother to actually use cannon material and facts. 2) People who write those highly irritating and extremely pointless 10/100/1000 things I am not allowed to do things (I will not refer to them as stories, because they are not). I am yet to find one that is anything other that the author trying to insert themselves into the Harry Potter storyline for the sake of being in it. Boring, tedious and a waste of space. And on the topic of people inserting themselves into the storyline in general. Don't. Please. Especially if you are American. I have nothing against Americans (I am half-american myself) but if you are going to Hogwarts, you are brittish, or at least from Europe. Stories such as "Five American Girls go to Hogwarts" or along those lines take up space that could be better filled by something of actual entertainment or literary value, which you now have to trawl through 6 pages of drivel to find. 3) People who write stories and/or summaries using text speak. If you want to talk like that, do it in a chatroom/online messenger. Don't put it in a story. Along the same lines, stories that blatantly lack of any attempt to spellcheck/proofread drive me insane. Especially when the incorrectly spelled words are Potterverse ones (i.e. Askaban, Vuldermort, Severis, etc. these are all real examples!). Basically, if there is a spelling mistake in the summary, then I don't read it. 4) People who add to the end of their (usually terrible) summaries, "please read, is better than it sounds" or "I suck at summaries, story is better". If your summary sucks, change it so that it doesn't. If you are incapable of doing that, then I don't see how your story is going to be much better... Stories: Harry Potter: Snippets-This is where I'm posting all my one-shots and drabbles for HPFC challenges. A wide variety of styles, characters and settings all within my personal Canon as well as the book Canon. A Decade of Fire-Look! A finished multi-chapter story! Ten one-shots about Lily and James Potter set on the 2nd May over a ten year span. Light Amongst the Darkness-Another finished story! Seven milestone moments in the relationship of Remus Lupin and Nymphadora Tonks. Generation M- A-Z drabbles set in the Marauder Era. I'm trying to span a wide range of characters from that generation. Conversations With a Hat- Now starting on the Trio's year, beginning with the Gryffindors. Silver and Black- Some of the later chapters are written but I'm struggling with her teenage years. Narcissa/Lucius Nott Another Year-Written for the Calendar Challenge on HPFC. Over a year overdue, but I'm slowly compiling it. Theodore Nott/Morag MacDougal. Harry Potter and the War Against Darkness-My first proper attempt at AU. This was a one-shot written for a challenge that got out of hand in my head. Random one-shots may occur from time to time. All set in the same fic-verse as my canon stories. C.S. Lewis: Random one-shots may occur from time to time. Definitely book based. I do NOT like the stupid movie shipping of Caspian/Susan. I mean, Caspian marries Ramandu's daughter so all those C/S shippers should at least add the AU tag. Grrr. Hunger Games Amazing Grace-FINISHED!!!
