Author has written 7 stories for Sailor Moon, Ninja Turtles, Fantastic Four, StarTrek: Voyager, and Wreck-It Ralph. Just a slacker who loves to write, draw, sing and make music. Yup. I'm a fan of a lot of different cartoons, including Ninja Turtles and X-Men, and I'm currently working on a reboot of an rp with lady1Venus. Now, while I love the Ninja Turtles, I have no respect for Peter Laird whatsoever due to his sexism - Mona Lisa from the original cartoon was meant to be a turtle, but he didn't want the ninja turtles to reproduce(yeah... like four males and a female would make for a robust population). And yes, I do like Venus de Milo. She did have a lot of mary-sue characteristics, but she could have really been a great character if she had been given half a chance. Besides, when I was little I wanted to be the girl turtle, daggit! Anyways, I have a fancharacter female turtle who grew up in Brazil and is a gaucho/capoeristra/shaman-type, and I made her this way because I love the Brazilian Portuguese language, as well as the 'Bate o pe' cockatiel. Her name is Sofonisba, after the female renaissance painter Sofonisba Anguissola. Look her up sometime! I also like Captain N, Bots Master, Mutant League, and many other obscure shows, and it's good to have places where we can post our own stories based on them, without having to go through a bunch of meddling executives and censorship. Might even post some fanfics based on my favourite live action shows like Star Trek DS9 and Voyager, and possibly Dark Angel. Now for a challenge for Ninja Turtles fans: Sure, maybe you hate Venus de Milo, but rather than have her die, why don't you instead try to develop her character? I watched some of the pilot arc, and let me tell you, I liked her personality. Here she is, a naive girl who suddenly has a great responsibility foisted upon her. Venus' personality just reminds me so much of a combination of X-Men's Jean Grey and Babylon 5's Delenn. As for her mind-hug powers defeating Shredder? Well, there's a lot of things that something simple and seemingly weak can fix better than brute force. The other turtles couldn't defeat him because they didn't have any psychic abilities, while Venus did. Saban could have made the plots of the other episodes just as epic and meaningful as those of the pilot arc, but they turned out sub-standard, cliche scripts that focused more on slap-stick and preaching, rather than putting some meat into the plot, and perhaps making more great arcs. So instead of making hate-art, kill-fics and other crap, try and bring out this wonderful depth the pilot arc had, the depth that moved me. |
