![]() Author has written 5 stories for Inuyasha, and Naruto. Currently under construction Welcome to my profile page, nice of you to drop by c: I'm Shadow of Truth (but you can call me Tsuji), at an age between 1 and 100, I am female, and I spend most my time on theAnime/Manga section of the archives. I have been on fanfiction for what feels like a lifetime, and I have no intention of ever leaving. I find myself on here for most of my day, and even though I'm not the best at writing fanfiction (chracterizing characters that aren't yours are challening), but I am busy writing my own novel. I come from China, in the city GuangZhou, so please excuse my English, though I've been in England for over half my life, I still tend to be a bit slow at times. Most likely that you have found me either by my reviews or fics. I am a picky reader and I usually take my time to leave a review to show the author how I feel about a story, though I might not have time, so I'll suscribe instead. A few things first, yes, I have very few fics, and I am by no means proud of them. In fact, they make my eyes burn but I am working on editing some of them, though I doubt that it'll be any time soon. I write fanfiction as a hobby, as I do, despite appearences, have a life. Thanks for dropping by, SoT Also, do not be dissapointed if I don't fav much... I don't really see the point in that other than showing which fandoms the user likes or reads, so I tend not to C: Things which annoy me in fanfictions; ANs in the middle of a chapter. Please don't do it. It breaks the feel of the 'world' your writing creates, and ruins the general feel of the story. If you want, but them at the beginning or at the end of a chapter, but not in the middle. Paragraphs. It makes writing a lot easier to read, but if they are too short, it makes it seem really long, or really short and stupid. Use them wisely. Capital letters. Use them. 'Nuff said. Unbalanced chapters. You should have a balance of text, be it description or action, and dialogue. Not whole stories made up of speech, and not whole stories going on about each individual leaf falling from a tree, or what so-and-so was wearing to a party. Ridiculously sized chapters. Chapters ranging from 100-22,000 words. I respect that, sometimes prologues tend to be a bit on the short side, but normal chapters? No. We also need a break from reading so much. Really long chapters make some readers want to get to the end and just be done with it, thus loosing some of the plot. Break up the long ones and extend the really short ones. Badly written lemon/lime. You know how much it makes you cringe when you read some poorly written smut scenes. You know who you are. Japanese in the middle of the story. I'm sure everyone knows how frustrating it is to have to scroll down to the bottom of the page for translation, and sometimes the author doesn't even bother? Sorry, we don't all know Japanese/Chinese/French/German/whatever else you decide to put in it. Sure, we can have the mysterious foreigner and you write in a different language to put in suspense - but please make sure you know the language first, fo there's no stupid grammar mistakes, or anything else, okay? Homophones can be easily distinguished (at least, most of them can), but they can be hard to catch out. Because of this, I recocmend getting someone else to check over your work, or take breaks between so you can re-read it from a fresh point of view. Girls Also a disclaimer, because I'm forgetful at the best of times: I do not own anything remotely to do with what I write and post on here. It belongs to their respective copyright holders and I just borrowed the characters and gave them a plot. |
