The Survival of Darth Maul

I published that 8/30/2007, apparently. That would have put me at age 14. That story was... yikes. I've taken it down now, as I'm frankly embarrassed by it, but I did preserve a copy for backup. I didn't read it or anything, but maybe someday I'll be brave enough to.

With Another Coming Along

Published 2/22/2008. So... 15. Again, Yikes. I also took that down, though there are elements of it that might make it easier to bear for a reread. Maybe someday.

AntiNightmare

Published 10/18/2011. The only work I've done before coming back that I've left up. I may go through and edit it to be closer to my style now. I wrote that after finishing a playthrough of Kingdom Hearts II, I believe, and I just had an idea I wanted to convey. At the time I called it "something different", but honestly that's probably the only style I'll end up writing anymore, as more traditional storytelling itches I can get elsewhere. I remember being quite proud of it at the time. Perhaps I'll go through again and see if that's justified. It certainly is the start of what I expect will be common on anything I write anymore: quiet moments between characters and the presence of sleepiness. I think I wrote almost all of it in a three to four hour binge and then edited it once and threw it up later either the same day or the day after.

In the time between that story and the next, I wrote a lot of unfinished things. Most of which I still have and may still finish. I'd like to, anyway. We'll see, I suppose.

Just Staying Up

Published 03/10/2019. After finishing Kingdom Hearts III, I was quite, uh, distraught after the end. As AntiNightmare proves, I've been a longtime SoKai shipper and, well, that ending hurt. So, for a little over a week when I wasn't tired enough to sleep, I wrote how I wished things were, or more accurately, would be. I didn't really have much of a plan, and just kind of wrote what seemed to feel right as I went. A lot of it was inspired by someone's analysis of the SoKai moments in KHIII, if I find it again I'll try to link it. When I wrote this one I just knew I was going to finish it somehow, and I felt maybe I should throw it up here and make a return. It was written to be a sort of balm for SoKai fans after KHIII, so hopefully it'll ease some other people as they read like it eased me as I wrote.

I have no idea what's in there from over the years and can make no comments on quality or anything. I'd like to prune some of the works in there but, honestly, I'm afraid to brave those woods right now.
