![]() Author has written 5 stories for Mass Effect, Warframe, and X-Com. Men are simple creatures. We like good food, better friends, and big explosions. But most of all, we all live with a deep-seated desire to protect the people around us. To fight for the soul of all that is good in this world. We are driven by a base desire to not just destroy, but rebuild even better than before. Some of us desire to climb to the top. Some of us live for the thrill living brings. Some of us view life as a challenge, and we take it head-on. Some of us strive to find that unparalleled feeling of powerful love for another. That is what separates the men from the boys. I live for my ability to help others. Here, I have the power to take my imagination and use it to create for the enjoyment of others. If even one person enjoys my work, then it's all worth it. I can make someone's day brighter, if even for a moment. To me, there is almost nothing better. "We can't change the past, or the mistakes we've made. We can only use the future to correct them. What we did marks who we were, What we do now shapes who we are, What we do next defines who we want to be." I do requests. Support is appreciated. I'm also on Twitter: @vindicatorvaga1 There's a link there to another one of my locations. Current WIPs: Alpha Logs series: finished 1 out of 5 planned. (on hiatus, may end up shortened) Tali/Mshep request: Tali-Path Warframe Interactive Story: Stories of the Shadow Caste NOTE: I'm not sure how often I'll be working on this one XCOM: Tipping the Scales Note: I tend to be rather sporadic when it comes to what stories I work on and when, so if I'm taking a long time to post a new chapter to a story it just means that I'm working on one of the others for the time being. I have a policy of finishing what I start, so all stories will be updated (and eventually completed) with time. This is also to make sure that I don't start half-assing a story partway through just to get it done. I may not be the best, but I want to give you my best. If you like my work, make sure to leave a review telling me so! I like to try to respond to reviews whenever possible, so look out for that if you drop a review on one of my stories! Favorite Games: Mass Effect series, Warframe, Fractured Space, Fallout franchise (minus 76), Halo series, Deadbolt, The Talos Principle, Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance, This War of Mine, XCOM series, and more. My advice as an author: if you want to see something written but can't find it, ask a writer to make it- the worst they can do is say "no." If you can't find a writer to make it for you (or don't want to go through the trouble), then try your hand at writing it yourself- the worst that can happen then is that you realize that you need practice. The best way to practice is to put your work out there for people to critique and comment on. They will tell you what you are doing wrong, but they will also tell you what you're getting right (at least, they should). I have never met a person who left a review on one of my stories who wasn't either telling me that they were enjoying it, or to tell me about a mistake or flaw that I missed when editing; I ask people to point that stuff out to me so that I can improve. If you're an aspiring writer and want some feedback on something that you wrote, I'm always willing to help by giving you my two cents. What you will find in my writing: - While the characters in my stories are hardly ever realistic (because they don't exist in a realistic setting) I do try to make them at least somewhat believable. This is especially true of how they speak. For example, a soldier who is shot in the arm is absolutely going to curse like a soldier would, not say, "Gosh diddly-darn it, that hurt." - I write for fun. What does this mean? It means that stories will mainly go where I want them to unless they are a request. Original characters can end up being one-dimensional and cliche, and things don't always make perfect sense. I am getting better at this (I believe), so my earlier works, like Alpha Logs, will display this kind of thing far more prominently. - I am by no means a professional, nor will I claim to be one. I seek to improve my writing skills, but I will not act like anything I make is in any way outstanding. |
