Hello! You can call me...uh...Charlie...Yeah. Charlie. (Someone in real life called me that once, but it's not even close to my real name, so I have no clue how they messed up my name so badly). So hi, I'm Charlie, and I'm obsessed with Rise of the Guardians and The Guardians of Childhood book series. I have no way of knowing if this will be a temporary obsession, or one that keeps resurfacing like I did with Paranorman (I kept coming back to that movie. I think I've had three phases in which I was obsessed with it, each lasting maybe 3 months?). Anyways, I'm obsessed and I love it. I've pretty much just finished a Detective Conan phase too. It was quite interesting. Anyways some stuff about myself... Oh! I'm the type of person who will research all sorts of crazy weird and morbid things for the sake of writing a story, or just for fun. A tame example is writing a character who could shape-shift into a white tiger, and researching things about white tigers. (Did you know that most of them are inbred and often have physical disabilities and stuff? Scoliosis is very common among white tigers in captivity). But my favorite example, which is frankly a more accurate depiction of the kinds of things I end up researching, is when I was reading about the different ways cultures deal with the dead, specifically the corpses; and the preservation of dead bodies. I find the topic of Bog Bodies to be particularly interesting!! To think that peat bogs preserve bodies almost the same way the fruits are preserved through pickling! It's amazing! People have found bodies from the Iron Age in the peat bogs in Europe! There was one man in particular who is more well known than other bodies found. He looks like he's peacefully sleeping, and his face still maintains so much detail, that you can still see the stubble on his chin! The people who found him thought...I'm sorry. I just realized that I'm going off on a rant about thousand-year-old corpses, and no one came here for that. Um... current fandoms and obsessions? Well I already mentioned RotG and the book series...And my dying addiction to Detective Conan...I suppose the last big phase I had before that was Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. And Ajin too... I actually started writing stories for all four of these (the one for fmab got the farthest. 5 chapters and 24 pages), however I don't intend to post any of them until I'm sure the stories will have a resolute ending. Meaning most won't be posted until finished, or at least a good amount of story is written so... (I know fmab has the most written, but one of my RotG stories has a full outline and now I need to just go in and write it in detail). Oh! And I'm obsessed with The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton!! (Or 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle, but the UK version of the title came out first, so I'll call it that, even though I think I prefer seven and a half a bit more). I recently finished it, and am looking to get into the fandom. Sadly I can hardly find the fandom anywhere...I highly recommend it! Of course, if the name is any indicator, the topics discussed aren't exactly for all ages. Just to give a brief summary, it's about a murder mystery and a time loop. Or as the author, Stuart Turton, puts it "Agatha Christie in a Groundhog Day loop, with a bit of Quantum Leap thrown in." So that's it on obsessions. How about we get into trivia? - I attend an art school. (Digital Media department, specifically the Graphic Design track, but I recently got into the Visual Arts track and will be starting that next year. Yay!) - I'm beginning to get back into my Yu-Gi-Oh! phase. Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0 and the manga that is. (There's a huge difference between Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Monsters, the one everyone knows that's about cards, and Yu-Gi-Oh! Season 0 and the manga, in which there are many games and people can and do die). - I just binged all of Parasyte in 2 days and now I'm rewatching it. - I update my profile a bit too often. You can probably tell by the date on when I last updated it, but I feel like I constantly need to update information and correct it as soon as it gets out of date. Which is weird because I know that practically no one will have a reason to read this until I start writing and posting stuff. - I love roleplay. If you want to go on a cool interactive adventure that we can create together with either OCs or someone else's characters, PM me. (No smut though please. When I say adventure, I mean like the Hero's Journey). - I have a Fiction Press account? It's linked to this one so the username is the same. I did actually start a story on there. It's not really any good right now because I've been posting really outdated things on it right now. And I need to update a few things here and there. But I do intend to continue that story.) - My favorite genre of music is rock. I like most kinds of rock. 80s and hard rock especially. Recently I've been delving back into artists I haven't heard in a while, but it's mostly The Beatles and Foo Fighters at the moment. And then occasionally I'll go on a Queens of the Stone Age or DEVO spree. - I can't pick a few songs for my favorites. But currently I'm in a DEVO phase again. I've got two playlists of just DEVO (5 hours, and 7 hours) (this difference is two albums). - I absolutely love hurt/comfort and whump fanfics. (I try not to say whump though, because it just sounds weird to me). - A friend of mine came up with a great description of me in just two words. "Closeted Edgelord." It's perfect. She says that I come off as a really cheerful and wholesome person, but here I am researching corpses, body decomposition, finding stories that always hurt my favorite characters, and listening to screams for fun... Do I need help? Maybe. Anyways, online I'm closer to just an edgelord. There is no closet here. So most of my stories will likely reflect this part of myself, and have darker themes. - Incredibly off topic and random, but I like math (specifically algebra. If you ask me to solve for x are love it. But if you as me calculate the area and volume of a transformed shape, I'll be less inclined to do so). I also like my history class (but the farther I go into the past, the worse the world looks). I like learning. I like learning interesting things I can incorporate in stories, or things that inspire stories. Interesting facts are interesting. Like, do you know about ophiocordyceps (commonly known as just cordyceps)? It's a fungus that infects mainly insects (I think a few arachnids too??), hijacking their bodies to help transport spores. It's pretty much the closest thing we've got to real-life zombies. Don't worry. There's no strain of it that affects humans. Yet... But actually you should look into it. It's super cool. Also silencers don't actually silence guns. - The last video game I was obsessed with was Sally Face. And before that it was Night in the Woods (sadly I never finished it), and before that, Ib, and before that, Deltarune (oh yeah...I started a Deltarune fanfiction. It was in the form of a movie script...I was going to make it a comic in the end I think? Although It's got so long, that I might just make it a written piece. If that happens, you might see it on here at some point. 21 pages, so fmab is still in the lead haha.) Oh and we can't forget about Detroit: Become Human! - One of the bonuses to not having posted a single story is that when someone comes across my name, next to it, it says :0 and I love that. - I finished Kipo recently, and I love it. - I'm obsessed with Tales of Arcadia! Trollhunters is my favorite (although I'm kinda mad about one part that felt like it was completely skipped over) but 3 Below was pretty good too. But I haven't done anything in the fandom yet, which is why this isn't listed in the above paragraphs, but I felt it was important to note here. I can't wait for Wizards! - I also started Breaking Bad. I also love it. So that's been stressful, but amazing. So yeah...That's me... I want to get something up on this site soon, but my work and procrastination disagrees. (The closest thing to being finished is a RotG oneshot that I may or may not expand on later). So feel free to talk to me. I love meeting fellow fans and sharing thoughts and ideas and inspiration. I may look for Beta Readers for any pieces I finish. Quotes (Spoilers to The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and The Adventure Zone: Balance) "The chances of you dying by spoon are low, but never zero." - My little brother, 2019 "We are never more ourselves, than when we think people aren't watching." - Stuart Turton, 2018 "Know this: The person who says they don't believe, is always, always the person that screams the loudest." - Glynn Washington, 2018 "Even dreams must fall to rules" - The Psychedelic Furs (Sister Europe), 1980 "There are three things all wise men fear: the sea in a storm, a night with no moon, and the anger of a gentle man." - Patrick Rothfuss, 2011 "It doesn't matter if Stanwin's alive tomorrow, you murdered him today." - Stuart Turton, 2018 "I'm multidimensional!!" - Justin McElroy as Taako, 2015 "Bad news, compadres, this place is magic as hell." - Justin McElroy as Taako, 2015 "Also, Greg.
