Author has written 26 stories for Power Rangers, CSI: New York, Super Sentai, Ancient Dogoo Girls/古代少女ドグちゃん, Tron, and Guardians of the Galaxy. I'm a 25-plus (emphasis on the plus, but I'm not giving anything else away!) gal living in California; born on the East Coast with a LONG detour in the Lone Star state before I finally got here. I'm pretty much just an overgrown kid; I love my dolls, plushies, games, and anime, and I am prone to fangirl tendencies. Tell me that I'm "too old" for all of that or that I should put it all away and "grow up," and I'll just point you to the door. Though I've written stuff off and on (mostly off since my college days), I'm a VERY late bloomer to shipping; though there were plenty of ships that I supported well enough, I didn't actually start shipping until Season 2 of CSI: NY, when Anna Belknap joined the cast as Lindsay Monroe. I thought that the scenes between Lindsay and Carmine Giovinazzo's Danny Messer were really cute, and before long, I was a full-on Danny/Lindsay shipper. D/L was the first ship that really got me into reading fanfic. I didn't actually start writing fanfic until 2007, and, believe it or not, my first fic was not a D/L fic. The year before, I had the spark of an idea that eventually became "NExSW (Northeast By Southwest)," but I didn't have the courage to start it until after I published my first Power Rangers Mystic Force one-shot, "Thinking With His Heart," featuring Xander Bly and Vida Rocca. My favorite ships are (in no particular order): Danny/Lindsay - CSI: NY Tidus/Yuna - Final Fantasy X/Final Fantasy X-2 Xander/Vida - Power Rangers Mystic Force Sousuke/Miu - Engine Sentai Go-onger, the 2008 entry in Japan's long-running Super Sentai series Chiaki/Kotoha and Takeru/Mako - Samurai Sentai Shinkenger, the 2009 entry in the Super Sentai series Shouta/Doji-chan - Kodai Shoujotai Dogoon V Mike/Emily - Power Rangers Samurai Daigo/Mikoto, Daigo/Yayoi, Souji/Rin, Utsusemimaru/Amy, and Nobuharu/Candelira - Zyuden Sentai Kyoryuger, 2013's Super Sentai entry (so much great ship tease and so many great shipping possibilities in Kyoryuger, and the writers went with the one that shouldn't have been???) Captain Jack Sparrow/Elizabeth Swann - Pirates of the Caribbean (one of the few times that I go for the non-canon couple) Cassian/Jyn - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story Captain Kirk/Carol Marcus - Star Trek Into Darkness Peter Jason Quill (Star-Lord)/Gamora - Guardians of the Galaxy (Marvel Cinematic Universe) Andy/April - Parks and Recreation I don't typically write characters across multiple ships because that's just not typically me. Daigo Kiryu is the first character that I've ever done that with, because I thought he would have paired up nicely with either Mikoto or Yayoi; I would have much preferred to see him end up in canon with either one of them instead of with Amy. I also don't do yaoi/yuri (that's slash/femslash for those not familiar with the Japanese terms), though I've occasionally been curious enough to read other people's fics dealing with such pairings. Crack pairings are also pretty much not on my agenda. I've made only one exception to date, for my Shinkenger/Go-onger crossover, and that was only because it seemed to go well in the context of the story. Though I'm not looking to revisit it at this time, I did end up liking it more than I thought I would, so a future fic with a flighty freeter in green and a samurai princess may very well turn up… but don't hold your breath… While I find it flattering that there are some of you out there who like my work well enough to ask me to take on their ideas (especially writing for a ship that is not on the above list), I am not accepting requests for fics. I work full-time, and I have other things that take up much of my time and attention on- and off-line. I prefer to write at my own pace and not feel like I'm on a timetable (real or imagined) because I've accepted someone's request for a fic. And now, a few responses to a few reviewers who didn't leave a link to discuss privately... To the person who left me an unsigned review for "NExSW" (apparently now signed as "C"): I knew that ending the story the way I did would be controversial, but I just wanted to show what lengths Danny would go to in order to make things right with Lindsay. I do agree that he did do relatively little to cause the events of the story, and Lindsay's reaction was definitely drastic, but that was just my way of moving things along. I am glad that you liked my interpretations of Adam, Flack, and Stella, and I'd be glad to discuss your review further privately if you would like. In any case, thanks for reading and reviewing! :) To KAT349: I may eventually do a Daigo/Yayoi fic, but please pardon me if, because of my dissatisfaction with how Kyoryuger ended, I would rather avoid writing any fic that has Amy Yuzuki in it. This is just my own bias and nothing personal against you. Nevertheless, thank you for reading and reviewing. :) To Tran Chau: I'm sorry that you didn't like "Shinken Reunion Party, Let's Go On!"; however, the reason why you claim to is ridiculous. I write what I like, who I like, how I like, and I like writing Chiaki/Kotoha. I don't have to, as you say, "understand other people feeling more." What you really mean by that is, "I want you to write your story the way I want it!" You don't care that extra Takeru/Mako and Sousuke/Miu scenes may not fit in with the flow of the story; you want them, so you're demanding that I write them in. Well, I'm not going to change this story just because you were "sad" that you didn't get what you wanted. I finished it over 7 years ago, and I'm happy with how it turned out. Besides, I think there's a good amount of Sousuke/Miu in it already. Also, there's no such thing as "being unfair" to pairings; writers write what they want, who they want, the way that they want. There's nothing "unfair" about that. If anything, you are being unfair to the writers when you claim to dislike their stories because they don't write what you want; I've seen evidence of you name-calling (in laughably incorrect Japanese; how much of a baka are you that you can't even get "baka" right??) one particular writer and saying that you hate them and their work because they wrote Takeru/Kotoha. Seriously?? Though I myself don't support Takeru/Kotoha, I do support the writer exercising their prerogative to write what/who/how they want. I also support them redirecting your "review" to the garbage because it was unfair and just plain stupid... just like the two that you left for me and I have since deleted as well. And as much as I like getting positive reviews, I denied the one that you wanted to leave for "White Day Blues" because I don't want any of your drivel sullying any of my pages. Have a good day. (no smiley for you) Sorry about that last one. It's one thing when someone disagrees with the way you've written something, be it characterization, sentence structure, or flow of events; I get that, but when someone trashes your story because you didn't write a pairing into a story, or, in this case, whining because I apparently didn't write their selected pairings "enough"... well, I can't let such stupidity by unchecked. Anyway, thanks for checking me out. I hope you enjoy my work! CBM |
