When Uther catches Arthur in bed with Lady Vivian, he is horrified and humiliated by Arthur's behaviour. There is only one person to blame for this whole mess. Merlin. Uther orders Arthur to use Merlin as his bedwarmer, to satisfy his son enough that he won't try to get into another lady's skirts until Uther has married him off properly. Merlin and Arthur are horrified.

Trying to rescue a neighbouring princess, Arthur and Merlin get captured by an evil sorceress intent on carrying the next heir of Camelot. In a dire moment Merlin reveals his magic and the evil sorceress is defeated. The new life chooses the closest viable host and Merlin finds himself in a predicament he never thought possible.
