The Resistance has been idle for months, unable to make a move against the First Order. When Rey is chosen to go on a special mission for the Resistance that may bring her face to face with Kylo Ren, she isn’t sure whether she is dreading it, as she should, or if she is feeling something else. Something she wouldn’t dare admit.

He had that look in his eyes. The one she had seen as she had boarded the Falcon. When he had been kneeling at the bottom of the gangway. Tears in his eyes. His eyes were clear now. [Post-TLJ. Rey and Kylo Ren experience more Force connections and build upon their relationship after what occurred between them.]

This story will be my take of Episode IX. Spoiler for both the force awakens and the Last Jedi. Reaching the top might not have been everything it was meant to be and when a new threat threaten to take down both the barely existing resistance and the First Order- Alliances will be necessary. She tried for five years to push him out, to forget about the connection that they had. Five years, and Rey had all but moved on to find her place in the galaxy, at the heart of t he Resistance. But, like gravity, he kept pulling her back in. Post-TLJ

"We don't need heroes, or mythical saviours. We need people. People who don't always do the easy, or right, thing, people who remind us what it means to be sentient, who walk that line between Dark and Light, and get burned while they get saved. People who still come out the other end and say 'I survived.'" Sometimes it's not so easy to see where the Dark ends, and Light begins.

Rey thought the connection she'd shared with Kylo Ren had been severed; she thought it had been a lie. But she could still feel him in the back of her mind, begging for entry, beckoning her to reach out and embrace the darkness that resides within her. POST TLJ. Reylo.
