After we left the restaurant Trevor let out a loud yawn and rubbed his eyes. I was holding his hand as I knelt down to look at his face. "You tired?"

He gave a small nod and I looked up at Grey unsure of what we should do, but Grey surprised me but letting out a sigh and then reaching down to pick up the small boy so he could place him securely on his shoulders.

Trevor's eyes went wide in surprise and clutched at Grey's head. I let out a laugh and reached up to pat his back, "Is that better?"

Trevor looked around taking it the view from the new height and smiled, "I can see so much more."

Grey chuckled before taking my hand his his and leading us down the street as the light was starting to fade from the sky.

As we walked down the festive street Trevor shouted and pointed at all the new and bright decorations that started to come alive with the night air. All the lights were purple, green, or orange, putting the whole street in a warm spooky glow.

The store fronts started to change as the sun fell out of the sky, the magic that I had thought was so amazing and festive was completely over the top now, everything was bigger more exaggerated as the night crept in.

I watched as the spider webs I had seen earlier grew and made what looked like a large creepy spider web tunnel, thick looking neon green webbing on both sides of us and purple glowing spiders handing from the magical ceiling.

I moved closer to Grey's side and herd him chuckle deep in his throat, from his shoulders I heard a loud clap, I looked up to see Trevor trying to catch the purple spiders that dangled in front of him.

The shop owners had changed as well, they were all now dressing in impressive costumes. As we pasted the store where Grey had bought me the snowflake scarf, I saw the old women who worked there standing out front. She gave us a kind smile before taking a sip of a glowing yellow bottle, suddenly she turned into a large humanoid cat lady still wearing her old lady dress and apron.

Trevor let out a loud laugh as we walked past and the old lady smirked at him, "Whats the matter sonny, you never seen an old cat lady before?"

That made all three of us laugh as we continued down the street, the spider webbing giving way to what looked more like a cemetery and pumpkin patch theme. Large jack-o-lanterns were lining a old metal fence and singing old spooky songs as we past them. Tomb stones littered all the grass in the area, shaking every now and then, sometimes ghostly white hands would rise up out of the ground reaching toward the sky.

I started noticing it was getting more crowded, people were standing around looking like they were waiting for something. "What's everyone here for?" Trevor asked

"They are here for the surprise, too." Grey smiled at me, "It's just about to start."

He stopped and turned to face the street that was now starting to clear out, people lining the sides in a large crowd. I looked around starting to feel a bit nervous with so many strange people crowding in close, but Grey's hand gave mine a small squeeze, and I felt my heart start to slow down.

Then a loud voice filled the air, "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!" I looked up to see a man in the sky just above the crowd dressed in a suit with a black cape, pale skin and long fangs. "WE ARE PLEASED TO PRESENT TO YOU THIS YEARS MAGICAL HALLOWEEN PARADE!"

"A parade?" I asked looking at Grey in confusion,

"Surprise." he said with a smirk pulling my hand up to place a small warm kiss on my knuckles.

"A PARADE!" Trevor shouted from Grey's shoulders, "I never seen a real parade before!"

"Me either." I said feeling a smile spread over my face, Trevor's enthusiasm was contagious making excitement growing in my chest.

Another loud sound drew our attention back to up the street, the announcer vampire was now floating just above the ground in the middle of the street and behind him I could see large decorated carts, with bright lights and glitter in the air.

A song I didn't recognize filled the air and the vampire started to moon walk down the street, the large carts moving slowly after him. As the first one past us, three witches in purple, green and red robes flew around the top of it. It was a large stage with a live band playing music.

The band members were all dressed as skeletons and the instruments all looked made out of different types of bones. The Green witch with red hair landed on the center stage and started singing the chorus;

"I PUT A SPELL ON YOU…

AND NOW YOUR MINE…!"

Trevor laughed and clapped at the skeletons, the magic making them look like real moving bones instead of just costumes. The other two witches flew around the display singing the back up for the Green witch.

I smiled widely at the display it was so much fun to watch, it moved slowly past and the next cart came into view. This one looked like a large mountain and had its own full moon floating above it.

A loud howl filled the air as a few people appeared on the mountain and started bending and twisting in strange ways while making loud howls and growls that made my skin crawl and suddenly there were large werewolves in their place, moving about the display like deadly predators.

The largest one was all black and stood so still at the top of the mountain I almost thought he was made of stone, but every now and then his head would move to scan the crowd. The rest of the werewolves moved quickly around the display roaring and snapping their teeth at the crowd.

I jumped slightly as a small howl came from next to me, I looked up to see Trevor had activated his Ligar charm causing his ears and a tail to appear. He had his head back and was howling along with the werewolves. I smiled widely and laughed, Grey smiled and let out a loud howl joining in with Trevor, making my heart give a squeeze, at the look of joy on the small boys face.

The next display appeared and it looked like a large floating river in the middle of the street. A hauntingly beautiful song drifted up from the waters surface, making the crowd go quite, trying to hear. It was almost like looking into a large dark aquarium, we could see both above and below the waters surface.

I squinted trying to see in the dark water as small lights in different colors started to appear and the beautiful sound got louder. I blinked and suddenly two large eyes were looking back at me, I jerked back and heard Trevor let out a small yelp of surprise. The eyes blinked again as a otherworldly beautiful woman's face came into focus, mouth open making me realize it was were the beautiful sound was coming from.

She reached out for us turning just as she reached the end of the waters magical wall to swim up stream. My mouth fell open in a small 'o' shape as her long glittering fish like tail came into view, it was green and purple, matching the her hair and eyes. She was beautiful as she swam around in the water, filling the air with the amazing sound.

I looked around more and saw there were more of them in the river, each a different color, their tails and eyes giving off a muted glow in the dark murky water.

"Sirens." Grey said from beside me, "Terrible monsters really."

I blinked in surprise, "What do you mean? Their so beautiful."

"Ah," he clicked his tongue, "You say that now but its said that if you get in the water with them, they change into man eating monsters who can consume your soul."

I felt my face go pale as I looked back at the sirens in front of us, the purple and green one was back she looked right at us before flashing a large smile filled with needle like teeth and I felt my skin crawl. I knew they were costumes of course but still knowing those creatures were real once was frightening.

The parade went on for a while longer, many different displays past us by, each with their own theme and amazing magic. There was a haunted house one, a giant spider with hundreds of baby spiders that magically crawled off the cart and into the crowd making people scream and jump.

Another one was a giant pyramid with a few people wrapped in long dirty bandages, they did a funny dance with sharp moments and stiff limbs, Trevor laughed the whole time. The last display was a large floating fountain with bubbling green slime pouring out and a slew of different monsters dancing around it singing, "THIS IS HALLOWEEN, THIS IS HALLOWEEN!"

Just as I thought it was all over a tall thin skeleton rose up out of the fountain and stood on the top of it. All creepy long limbs and holes for eyes as he shouted, "THANK YOU ALL FOR COMING, ENJOY THE REST OF YOUR SPOOK-TOBER!"

As the crowd started to disperse, I looked up to see Trevor had fallen asleep laying completely over Grey's head his arms dangling on either side and his head resting on tops of Grey's raven black hair.

"Aww," I said gently reaching up to rub the small boys hair back from his face.

Grey smiled down at me before gently pulling me toward him and I felt my heart leap, knowing he was going to kiss me. He gave me enough warning by going slow, so I could stop him if I wanted.

A warm feeling filled me and I smiled when I realized I didn't want him to stop, no I defiantly wanted him to kiss me. Heat flashing in my chest at the fact that there was no hesitation.

When his lips touched mine gently, the smile was still on my lips and he pulled back to look at me. His eyes dancing around my face trying to read my mind, a smile of his own on his handsome face.

"I hate to cut the evening short, but we really should get him home and cleaned up." Grey said, as his eyes darted up to the still heavily sleeping Trevor on his head. I giggled and nodded, I thought for a moment before slowly stepping into his side and linking our arms at the elbow. Enjoying the warmth I received from the closeness.

Once we made it back inside, I reached up to take Trevor's still limp body from Grey just as Natsu appeared in the kitchen door way.

"Oi?" he said loudly,

"Shhhh" both Grey and I snapped at him,

Natsu's face morphed into absolute confusion, but he tried to lowered his voice in a horrible attempt at whispering. "The hell you get a kid from?"

Lucy's head appeared from around Natsu, "A kid?"

I adjusted Trevor's limp body to hold him better, he was heavier then he looked.

"It's a bit of a story." I said while heading up the satires, "Lucy can you help me get him settled?"

"Of course." Lucy gave Natsu's arm a small squeeze before following after me.

I headed toward my bedroom and laid the small boy down on my bed, as I started to re move his dirty worn out boots, Lucy appeared with an arm full of blankets and pillows.

"Where did you find him?" she asked, while making up a bed on the floor near the bed.

"We met him at the coffee shop in the shopping district. He was friendly and joyful at first, but after a little bit he confided in us that he had been waiting for his mother there." I moved to place his shoes by the bedroom door.

Lucy moved to sit on the bed near Trevor and genially started to remove his so small dirty coat.

"His mother? Where is she now?"

I let out a small sigh as I shook my head, I left the room for a minuet to get a warm washcloth from the bathroom. When I returned, Lucy had moved to place the small boys head in her lap and was genially combing her fingers through his tangled teal hair.

I moved to start removing the dirt from his face while I talked. "He told us that some bad men came and his mother told him to hide and that the shopping district was there meeting place, if they were ever separated."

Lucy's face fell her eyes filling with concern and worry for the boy, she ran her fingers through his hair again, "How long has he been waiting there?"

I shook my head, as I moved to clean his small hands. "A long time it seems."

We stayed quite after that both lost in our own thoughts about what this all could mean. A small knock on the door had us both looking up to see Grey with a tray of food and Natsu with what looked like a weird glowing orange rock in his hand.

"It's a night light." Natsu said awkwardly as he moved to place in on the floor near the small bed Lucy had made up. "Kids don't like the dark."

"Good thinking, Natsu." Lucy smiled at her boyfriend, Natsu smiled before moving over to look down at the still sleeping boy. "He is out cold, hu?"

"He has been through a lot." I said sadly,

Natsu nodded, "Grey caught me up. So the little nugget is moving in?"

Grey nodded, "We will have to go talk to the Master in the morning, its the best way to keep Trevor safe and get eyes and ears out there for any information on his mom."

"Here ill put him in his bed." Natsu moved to pick up the boy, but I placed a hand on his arm stopping him.

"Let him have the bed," I said watching Trevor's face, "He should have a real bed."

Natsu nodded and pulled back and Lucy slowly removed herself from the boy. I moved him to bed under the blankets and Grey flicked on the night light. We all stood there a moment looking down at the small child.

He looked so small and fragile, I felt a sharp ache grow in my chest. The thing's that Trevor had seen and had had to go through alone, they were all to familiar. I looked up and noticed Natsu had the same feelings as me dancing across his face.

This little boy was so much like us at his age, and our hearts were braking for him. I jumped slightly when I felt a hand on my shoulder, I looked up to see Grey was watching me. I let him gently pull me into a small side hug.

"It's alright now." Grey's said quietly into my hair, and my heart melted a little be it more for this man, because I knew he wasn't just talking about Trevor he was also talking about me.
