FYI: Anna is about 18, Elsa is 20, and
Kristoff is about 19 (just saying)

Elsa lay awake in her bed in the very early hours of the morning, unable to sleep. The blonde rolled over trying to identify what was keeping her awake. There were no threats. Any fighting that had been going on had stopped with the news of the king's capture. Todd, Jimmy, and Nelly were okay. Both the guards and the townsfolk accepted her as the new ruler. Hans was safe in a cell. Her father would be moved to the asylum, where he would be placed in maximum security. Preparations were being made for their mother's funeral. Kristoff was in the room next to her, with Anna across the hall from him. Nothing should be keeping her awake in her childhood room.

Realization washed over the blonde. She was alone in her childhood room; the room she had spent so many hours miserable and lonely. Elsa swung her legs over the side of the bed and went to the door, intent on going to Anna's room. When she opened it, she was surprised to find Anna standing there with a raised fist, poised to knock.

"OH, uhh, hi, Elsa," Anna greeted, not able to look her sister in the eye. "I was just coming to see you. It's kind of lonely over there, and I got scared. Guess I'm just not use to being by myself anymore, huh?" The younger girl gave a nervous chuckle. "I don't suppose, I mean, you wouldn't mind if-"

Anna stopped speaking abruptly when Elsa placed a hand on her should. "It's okay, I understand." The blonde assured her sister.

Anna glanced down the hallway towards her and Kristoff's rooms. "How do you think Kristoff is doing?" She asked Elsa.

The blonde was about to answer, but was stopped by a clopping noise. Anna turned around to see who was coming. It was Kristoff leading Sven through the castle. As he pasted, he dipped his head towards them. "Ladies," he acknowledged. Elsa leaned into the hallway to watch as Kristoff and Sven went to their room and disappeared through the door.

Anna turned back to Elsa, shrugged, and began skipping to Kristoff's door. Elsa shook her head with a small smile, closed her own door, and followed her sister down the hall.

The next morning, Kai was walking down the hall to see what the royal sisters wanted for their first breakfast back at the castle. He went to Elsa's door and knocked. When there was no answer, he tried again, this time calling Elsa's name. Finally, he decided to open the door and peek inside, only to find it empty. Concerned, the cook went to Anna's room. He went through the same procedure, and got the same results. Now thoroughly worried, Kai tuned to Kristoff's door and without knocking, cracked the door open to look inside. The bed was empty, but, on the floor laid a reindeer. The two blondes were reclined against the animal, with Elsa curled into Kristoff's side. Anna seemed to have sprawled herself across the others, with her head resting on her sister's shoulder. They all seemed rather content, as if they had been sleeping that way for years.

Kai shut the door softly and made his way back to the kitchen. "Pancakes," he said to himself. "Everyone likes pancakes."
