Barry looked over to his nephew worriedly. Wally was only 7, and had been through so much: his mother's death, his father's abuse, it had all taken its toll on the kid, leaving him in his shell. Barry tried to crack this shell a bit each day, hoping one day he would emerge completely. Today was a particularly bad day, Wally had looked so frightened all day. It broke Barry's heart. So he decided to do the only thing he could.
"Hey Wally, do you want to play a game?" asked Barry carefully.
"S-S-S-ur-ur-ure- sure un-un-cle-uncle B-B-Bar-bar-ary-Barry." Stuttered Wally timidly.
"Hm, well what game do you wanna play? We could play tag, or battleship, or maybe Flash?" questioned Barry jokingly.
"Can we pl-play Flash? Pl-ple-please Uncle Barry?! Pl-please?" begged Wally excitedly.
Barry smiled to see his nephew's nervous stutter had almost vanished with one question. "Well, if you want to…"
"Yes!"
"Alright, I'll see you in the living room in 5 minutes!"
"Yay!" Wally dashed up the stairs to get on his red Flash hoodie. Barry smirked while walking over to the closet and grabbing a blue coat, squirt gun, white sunglasses, and a blue hat. (A/N I know that's not exactly what Captain Cold wears but come on, it's making believe with a seven year old!) He walked back over to the living room and spotted the recycling.
"Hhmm." Said Barry out loud. He quickly ran over and grabbed the box, along with a sharpie. He scribbled out the word 'jail' before setting down the box in the center of the room.
"Freeze Captain Cold! Flash is going to stop you!" called Wally as he hoped down from the last step.
"You'll never catch me Flash!" shouted Barry as he took off running. They chased each other around for 20 minutes before Barry heard Wally starting to take heavy breaths and decided it was time to be caught. Wally dragged him over to jail and sat cross legged in the 'cell'.
"Alright Flash, you've caught me again. Now how 'bout some ice cream?"
