A.N.: WHAT IS THIS? AN UPDATE? LOL, hey guys! Sorry for the lack of writing. I only have one excuse, and it's name is high school. It's cray-cray:p Anyway, hope you enjoy!
Disclaimer- I will never own Divergent or the characters in this story. However, the ideas and the writing are mine.

Marlene's P.O.V.
8th grade.
Wow.
Just thinking about it makes me shiver with excitement.
I'm going to be a high schooler in a matter of months.
Wow.
My grades are amazing this year, I have a 4.0 average.
Mother is so proud of me, but dad thinks I can do better.
Not surprised at all.
Uriah has gotten even more popular, if that's even possible.
The sixth and seventh graders flirt with him NON STOP.
It doesn't bug me anymore though.
Even though we barely talk at school, we always promise to meet twice a week at our spot.
But Jenny still goes to my school and still continuously bothers me, it's unbelievable what jealously can do to a girl.
Life is the same as it was two years ago, on my first day of middle school.
I still don't have a figure like the other girls, which bothers me a little, but I can't control it.
Uriah, however, turned tan and muscular, and is now the captain of our school's football team.
How do two people with completely different personalities become best friends?
So, as I walk towards Uriah's house, I do what I do best.
Think.
Think about the chances were so low for us becoming friends, and the fact that he hasn't completely ignored me yet is a plus too.
So, once I get to Uriah's two story, light blue, picture perfect house, I see Uriah sitting on his front porch, crying his eyes out.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen.
I quickly ran up to him, my footsteps pounding on the flagstone beneath my gray converse.
Immediately, I expect the worse.
I crouch down in front of him and grab his hands, which are covering his brown eyes.
"Uri," I say. "What's wrong?"
He doesn't answer me.
"Uriah Oliver Pedrad, answer me right now or else."
He sniffles.
"Or else, what?" he finally answers back.
"If I were you I'd pray you wouldn't find out. Now, what's wrong?"
Uriah looks at me with complete sadness in his face and tells me,
"M-M-Mom just told me that her and dad bought a new house. I'm moving."
Silence followed.
"What?" I said.
He nodded his head slowly.
"Where?" I ask.
He looks at me and says, "Right across the street."
That's when my heart started to beat again, and this time, I was actually kind of embarrassed that I didn't see this coming.
I laugh.
"Oh, Uriah…."
"What!" he yells at me. "This is serious Mar!"
And even as I think of reasons why this is absolutely unnecessary, I start to remember that Uriah had lived in this house his whole life. How, his older brother Zeke taught him to shoot a Nerf Gun and how his dad taught him to ride a bike. Then I finally understand why he's so upset.
I sigh and lean into his shoulder.
"Uri, change isn't always bad, in fact change ends up being for the better most of the time. Just think, at this new house, new memories will be made."
He sighs.
"I don't want change, I want to stay here forever."
Long silence follows this.
I grab his hand and squeeze it.
"Nothing lasts forever, Uriah."
And as we sit on the Pedrad's front porch, hands interlocked, saying nothing at all, I help but think that maybe, just maybe, this moment, right here, right now, will be our forever.
…..
A.N.: There it is! I hope this was worth the wait. Now, as a result of not updating, I've had time to think about the plot of this story. And now, I finally have an idea about what's going to happen.
Please be patient, the flashbacks are necessary for you all to understand the background of the story. THEY WILL ONLY LAST AT MAXIMUM 4-5 MORE CHAPTER, THOUGH I'M AIMING FOR 3 OR LESS.
Thanks so much for everything guys!
Xoxo, Sunny
