Chapter 13 One Year Later

Graham

It had been a hard year for everyone but a lot of good had come out of it. The curse was broken, everyone found out who they truly were and were reunited with each other, Regina was sent away without her powers and without any memory of who she was, thanks to Rumple, and everyone was living happy in Storybrooke.

But thinking of that day was still hard for him because so much had happened, good and bad. He didn't know if he would be able to survive but he did and he was truly happy now. He had a family and he loved them more than anything in the world.

Since that day Henry had grown accustom to calling Graham Dad and they were thick as thieves. They did everything together; went fishing, played sports, read and anything else they thought of. Mary Margaret and David were happily back together and were very accepting of Graham and loved him like their own son.

And last but not least Emma. He almost lost her that day and it almost killed him. It took her a week to come out of the induced coma and Graham was elated when she opened her eyes and smiled at him. She had a long recovery but they were all there for her through it all. She was still getting used to Mary Margaret and David being her parents but she loved them and they loved her and that was all that mattered.

He loved her more than anything in the world and he wanted to prove it to her for the rest of their lives. He had been working up the nerve to do this for a while and now with the whole family here for a picnic he knew this was the perfect moment.

"Hey babe what took you so long?"

She was so beautiful and he loved everything about her. Without saying a word he got down on his knee and grabbed her hand.

"Emma Swan. I love you more than life itself you are my other half without you I would be broken. You are a part of me, the best part of me and you make me a better person every day. I want to prove how much I love you and if you do me the honor in marrying me I will show you everyday how much I love you. So Emma will you marry me?"

Emma

She was speechless. She loved this man so much and he actually loved her too. Sometimes she had to convince herself that he really did love her because sometimes it didn't seem real. He was her perfect guy her perfect match. So she knew her answer even before he asked the question.

"Yes of course."

He jumped up and wrapped her in his arms and spun her around. She kissed his neck and laughed as he twirled her around. Everyone else stood and was smiling. They all took turns hugging the newly engaged couple.

"Congratulations you guys, you both deserve your happy ending."

"Thanks mom and dad."

Sometimes it felt weird to her to call them mom and dad but in this moment it felt right. She hugged them both and they also hugged Graham who was still grinning ear to ear.

"Congrats mom."

"Thanks Henry. Did you know?"

"Of course Dad asked me and grandpa for permission."

"Oh did he?"

"Yeah and I helped him pick out the ring."

"Speaking of the ring."

"Oh sorry I almost forgot."

Graham immediately pulled out the ring and Emma fell in love with it. It was a simple ring but it was perfect in Emma's eyes, she never really liked fancy rings and that's why this one was made for her.

"Do you like it?"

"I love it Graham and I love you."

He gave her a gentle kiss on the lips that sealed this perfect moment that would lead to their happily ever after.
