Monopoly on Truth
By SMYGO4EVA
Ratchet felt as if he had been wandering for a long time. He stared downward, watching his pedes carry him along. It was one ahead of the other, the other ahead of the first. It was how it had been ever since he had begun this path.
Did he know where was he going? And if so, for what reason what there to keep moving forward? Was there any goal he was hoping to achieve? But no, Ratchet only continued walking forward. It was interchangeable with by the side of Optimus, or most of the time he was just on his own. Alone was what he was used to, alone was what he had become and he was too old to change it now.
In this Primus-forsaken war, Wheeljack felt cursed, abandoned, and on his own, just what he was used to. The Wreckers had refused him. The Autobots denied him. There was not even an in-between group to cleanse what he had become. Indeed, what was there to cleanse when it was who you were?
Continue moving.
That was all that they were meant for.
The war stories they shared would stick with them until they would be with the AllSpark. For the path they both walked would always be ahead of them. And no matter what was put before either one of them, the path will never be blocked.
Ratchet knew what his purpose was, to keep fighting on this infinite walk into the end of the war.
Wheeljack knew he had to move as well, on the path hopefully to the completion of the past.
Either way, the war stories would still be with them in the end, because that monopoly on truth would never be broken.
