It's been a while huh? This chapter covers some backstory! Finally, BerryBliss, you're finally giving us some hints? Yeah, and I'm sorry it took me so long. School work and everything got in the way, and I'll update my other stories when I can ASAP.

Once again, I would really like to thank you for all those who have still stuck with this story – spent their time reading it, and of course – reviewing it even! (I will leave the reviewer's names when I can. I am typing this in a rush. ;-;)

Enjoy! And I hope you like this one too.

I apologize for the errors in the first few chapters (I promise I'll edit them soon). To be honest, I never expected the story to turn out like this. My parents already caught me typing in the computer twice when I'm supposed to be sleeping at the moment, and this is all I can leave you.

Meiko Orphanage looked just like any other orphanage you would see in town – if not a bit busier than others. Though it couldn't be denied that it had not even been close to what it once was (as there were much more established orphanages now) – it was still busy with their lack of... staff as one would call it.

Amidst all the activity, Riko Aida was occupied with some thoughts. She couldn't help it. For a while now, something's been bugging her endlessly, like something was about to happen...

"Riko-sensei," a boy tugged at her apron, "Are you okay?"

"Yeah, I'm fine~" If the people who knew her outside of this saw her right now, they would puke at her gentle smile. Gee, she could be kind if she wanted to. She gave the child a lift, "Let's go in, don't want to be gobbled up by some monster, do you?" Ryoma-kun shook his head vigorously.

Just as she was about to go in, her eyes caught sight of a Ferrari parked in front of the orphanage's gate. Wondering what it was all about, she put Ryoma down and told him to head inside before her, and that she would come in later.

Rushing to the gates, a red-haired teen got off first, followed by a yellow-haired teen, then a green-haired teen, two bicklering teens with hair of blue and red – and finally purple. What... was a rainbow doing in front of the orphanage...?

"Riko Aida, I presume?" Creepy how the redhead knew her name, "Daughter of Aida Kagetora, owner of Meiko Orphanage."

"That'd be me." she said in confirmation.

"We'd like to speak to your father concerning certain matters."

"Look, if it's about closing down the orphanage, then sorry but you would have to leave, because no matter what you say-"

"It's something... more important than that. You need not worry, it does not concern the orphanage."

Riko's brows creased, "That makes me even more worried." She sighed resignedly, seeing the determined look on the teens, that obviously told her they weren't going to back down so long as they still didn't have answers.

"Fine, my father's inside."

They entered Meiko Orphanage and was immediately greeted by the sight of kids scattered here and there, dispersing in different corridors, some gathered in rooms while playing with small blocks and toy cars. Pure, innocent eyes showed slight wariness as they passed – and some would occasionally ask "Riko-sensei" who they were.

And she would reply with a simple "I don't know.", and tell them that there was nothing to worry about.

They reached a room at the end of the strangely secluded second floor corridor. Riko knocked, "Dad, I'm coming in, okay?" There was a faint shrug from inside.

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Aida Kagetora." Akashi greets as soon as he enters the room, approaching the man on the wheelchair, almost with a look of sympathy. He knew people didn't like being sympathized over, but he was well aware of the cause behind those injured legs.

"The way you look at me tells me you have things to ask, boy." Aida Kagetora faced Akashi and the rest, frowning. "Riko-tan," he smiles innocently, and he looks young for a second, as if time had turned back, his voice then lowers, "Can I leave you out of this? This story is not for you to hear."

Riko looked at her dad quizzically. "Why not?"

"... It's about that boy, I'm sure."

Hearing this, Riko almost gasped. Understanding, she nodded, "I'll be downstairs, just call me if you need anything – or someone to kick some butt." She eyed the Generation of Miracles.

"That's cute, Riko-tan, but I can take care of myself."

"Otou-san!"

"Fine, fine, just go." That's my daughter.

Riko Aida exited the room. Murasakibara's watchful eyes trailed her until she headed down the stairs. "She's gone." Murasakibara said.

Aida Kagetora wears an amused expression there on, "So, is this about Kuroko Tetsuya?"

"Well, this one's quick to get on. Less riddles and talk." Kagami comments. They all stare at him.

"What? It's true, right?"

They all shook their heads, ignoring him.

"Akashi Seijuro, the son of Seiji..." It caught Akashi's attention when his name and his father's was mentioned, "Aomine Daiki, son of Daichi... Midorima Shintarou, son of Midorima Shun... Murasakibara Atsushi, son of Murasakibara Ayato, and Kise Ryouta, son of Kise Ryuutarou."

"You... know us?"

"Knew your fathers from high school, and college – I was their teacher for a while, which was which I couldn't recall," was the reply, "The real people behind the miracle class... the first batch of miracles..."

"Wait," Midorima had cut in, "So you mean to say...?"

"You heard right, your fathers were the five people who established the Miracle Class – or at least, proposed the idea to the board.

Any idea why?"

"... It has something to do with Tetsuya, doesn't it?" Kagetora-san looks to Akashi, slightly surprised.

"Yes, and... no." He threw the cigarette into the trashbin, "For one thing, Kuroko Tetsuya wasn't the actual cause why it was formed."

He moved his wheelchair over to a nearby drawer, and opened it, taking out a picture. It was a family picture of... of Kuroko, with his mother and father.

It was taken in Kuroko's younger days, he didn't look any older than a three year old, walking side by side with his mother and father. It was indeed, Kuroko Tomoe in her younger days, and for a moment it was all hard to believe that she was once a mother too. An actual mother to a life she had conceived and had come to cherish despite the fact that she could have lost hers.

What happened... exactly?

"Kuroko Tetsuo, the sixth first generation miracle of Teikou."

Kuroko... Tetsuo...

"The Miracle Class program was established nine to ten years ago – and from the looks I'm getting from all of you, I can pretty much conclude what you think of Kuroko Tomoe."

He continued, "She wasn't always like that, not when she was still... sane, how should I put it – when she was still oblivious to the truth, that is."

"What truth?" Kise queried.

"... That even though Kuroko Tetsuo was married, he was in a secret relationship with Akashi Seiji."

"But that doesn't explain it, then," Midorima says, "She could have taken it in stride, and demand an explanation instead of drastically changing the situation at hand. That still does not explain why the Miracle Class was established as well."

"Humph," Kagetora-san then met the eyes of Midorima, and Akashi, who was silently observing in the corner, still trying to process the information in his head. It had gotten through alright, but the truth always was the hardest thing to believe...

"Your father took the little boy here, you know." he said pointedly at Akashi.

A sudden look of realization graced their features, "Y-You mean..."

"Yes, blondie," Kagetora-san was amused by the expression Kise had ("What's that supposed to mean?!"), "What you're thinking is correct. Kuroko Tetsuya grew up here, in Meiko Orphanage. You could probably gather that much, now – as to what the Miracle Class has to do with all of this..."

Hearing what they heard, their eyes widened.

"The fact that you all met, the fact that you were all assembled – the very essence of your lives, and what makes up the person you are today – was all planned for this moment."

It was a bitter fact. The harsh truth. It would have been hard to accept, had it not been for Kuroko.

"So you're basically saying that it was all a set-up?" Aomine exclaimed, "Bullsh*t!"

"A-Aominecchi, calm down-"

"You expect me to calm down after the bull this guy is spouting-?"

"Daiki," Akashi warned, "Mind your manners."

Those feelings they felt were definitely real.

Those times they spent together.

The times they fought.

The times they laughed together.

He wanted to believe that.

Aida Kagetora grunted – not at all surprised by the reaction he was getting. He put aside the cigarette box onto the desk beside him. "I was a teacher at Teikou University when it happened – Kuroko Tetsuo was a student of mine, so were the rest of your fathers- or if I recall, most of them."

They listened as he went on about how Kuroko Tetsuo deeply trusted in him, and how he was confided that secret.

That he had some sort of relationship with Akashi Seiji.

"He didn't emphasize what it was exactly," Aida Kagetora said, "But I could tell he was telling me something important. So I listened and watched them from afar – good couple they were. Only Tetsuo met that girl – Tomoe – back when he was in high school. She had no ill intent when she planned to go to the same university as Tetsuo apparently – I pointed it out how she was madly in love with him, but he didn't seem to mind – if I were in the same position, i'd be terrified, really."

"... So, what happened?" Kise whispered, hardly able to keep up with the confusing string of relationships.

"Tetsuo started dating Tomoe, for reasons I don't know. Perhaps persistence from Tomoe's part – or he had always had an interest in the girl – I wasn't quite sure."

"Bleurgh, he must have gone mad – dating a woman like that."

"She wasn't like that before, Bakagami," Aomine pointed out. "You're not any better yourself – going after Tetsu and all..."

"You're listening that carefully?!" Kagami seemed flabbergasted – but with the stares he was getting, he clasped his mouth shut. "Sorry," he muttered.

"Anyway," it was Aida-san's turn to speak again, "After Tomoe graduated – well, they... married." The word came out like a curse.

"WHAT?" was the incredulous reaction. Completely normal, Aida Kagetora thought.

"All of them were there, the other miracles." He said, "I was pretty surprised by the acceptance of it- but then again, Tetsuo was happy... for a while."

"For a while?" Midorima repeated.

"You see, it happened in a batch reunion – when the miracles reunited once again. I was there myself when it happened – students having invited me and all. It was then that Kuroko Tetsuo got... a bit carried away.

This idiot, Kise Ryuutarou, I think," at this, people turned to Kise momentarily, and Kise got the message. ("Okay fine! I know it's hereditary! NOW STOP LOOKING!")

"He got Tetsuo drunk, for heaven's sake, of all the things. Seiji – Akashi Seiji, being the person he is, well – took the chance."

"Took the chance." Akashi repeated. This didn't seem to sit right with him.

"... A one-night stand changed everything."

"Is this the dramatic scene in those tv shows where the wife finds out?" Kagami scoffed.

"No. Even worse." Aida Kagetora said gravely, "Tetsuo realized his feelings for Seiji once again – and they started... meeting up secretly. I would talk to Tetsuo about it sometimes – really honoured he trusts me that much – and... well, obviously, Seiji had things to hide too – which he told me some of them. I asked him whether or not it really was okay for him to tell me, when he chuckled. Know what he said?" The question seemed to be directed at Akashi.

"Sei needs my help. He said it in that exact tone. Turns out there were pressing complications back at home – and that, well – he was engaged too, just as how Tetsuo was married."

"Well, screw this." Kagami cursed. Aomine did the same. The others simply bit back their comments – deciding not to disrespect the guy.

"Halfway though, Tomoe found out – and that was when everything started to turn out wrong. So did Seiji's parents after Tomoe – that rat – told them somehow. Tetsuo couldn't go in full detail at the time – didn't expect him to – with the state he was in. What was worse was that...

Tomoe was already pregnant at the time. With Kuroko Tetsuya."

The air in the room turned cold all of a sudden.

"He somehow managed to move on though – strong person, Tetsuo was – even if he was starting to well up with the fear that his wife would do something to the child."

"And on January, yes, I remember that day well – Kuroko Tetsuya was born. I witnessed him first hand at the hospital as a godfather – well, amongst many else, you know, the other miracles." There was warmth in his voice, a hint of nostalgia, but it immediately vanished after he spoke again, leaving behind no trace.

"Only Akashi Seiji wasn't there. Nor did Tetsuo see him after that, not personally at least. The sight of Akashi Seiji pained him, that is – so he decided to end it all as time went by. And that was the biggest mistake of all.

He went to see Akashi Seiji one last time – despite his wife's request – I'd rather say demand, to never see the guy again. Stubborn, you could say. And Tomoe lost it – after that, I simply don't know what happened."

"Then... what about Kurochin?" Murasakibara asked, "How did he end up here?"

"... I don't know what happened after Tomoe found out about Akashi Seiji and Kuroko Tetsuo's final meeting – just that it was a snowy night, and I could fully remember how Seiji brought Tetsuya here, bruised and battered. Directly after that, Seiji proposed the Miracle Class, I heard."

"... What?" came out like a lingering whisper.

"The rest is someone else's story to tell. You're heading to her right now, right? Kuroko Tomoe."

There was no doubt about that now.

They let the truth sink in slowly.

It was time.

"Thank you for sparing us your time, Aida-san." Akasjhi said, "You will be rewarded."

"Humph," Aida-san shook his head, "It's the boy's safety I want – and you'd better guarantee that. My daughter and I can't lose him – and I suspect you all can't either."

"Yes." Kise said with resolute, "Kurokocchi's very dear to us."

"You got that right."

"Really, this has turned into something troublesome..."

"Kurochin, we're coming~"

"A favour, before you leave." Aida-san says, "If you all somehow meet with Tetsuo someday, but only if you do...

Can you tell him Kagetora-sensei sends his greetings?"

YEHEY! That's doooone~! That was kinda hard to write, but I can say it turned out better than I thought it would be (I hope it's not totally fail ;-;). Wheeee – but hey, we're far from done yet. Though we're close to the end, there's some more explaining to do. Notice the hints? *poke* You didn't? Well, fear not! This author is working on the next chapter! (No guarantees though, school sucks).

Until then!
