Chapter 4: Resolve

"Wait, wait, wait," the blond haired boy demanded. "Let me get this straight."

"Uh huh?" Yang smiled at the boy he tried to figure out the missing pieces.

"You want us," motioning to the pink skirted girl, " to pretend to date?"

"Yuppers! You got it Jaune-y boy!"

"No way, Yang!" the scraggly haired boy disagreed for once.

"Huh?" Yang asked, taken aback.

The blond marched off of the roof and back down the stairs into the hallway. His frustration left a disgusting look on his fact and a sour taste in his mouth to compliment it. He was ready to do whatever it took to win over one girl, but pretending to date one, especially his bro's girl was not part of the deal he bargained for. Despite all of the actions he had done to reach this certain point, he had morals

"Sometimes that girl just takes it a little too far!" he thought to himself, inwardly letting out his pent up rage.

"So what do we do now?" female Thor asked out of curiosity.

"We stick with the plan!" the blonde responded, giving Nora a big thumbs up and a wink.

The next day followed according to Yang's plan...or at least that's what she thought. After Nora jumped on top of Jaune and the blond used ambiguous words to address her, everyone in the group of friends; RWBY and JNPR, were left flustered. The band of miscreants, according to Professor Port, were immediately sent to Headmaster Ozpin, who thought it in their best interest, to be confined in the library for the next 10 hours. Glynda would be standing next to the door in the hallway to make sure no one would leave.

The group of eight clustered in a large oak table in the library, waiting for someone to talk. There was as much tension in the air as there were books. And though it would normally be a welcoming environment for the bookworm, Blake, everyone projected an aura of the opposite agenda.

"Jaune and Nora…" the red hood began, "are dating?"

All eyes shifted to the two in question, including the one orchestrating this whole nonsense. As her plans came into fruition, she would watch everyone suffer...for the next few hours, before telling them the truth.

Ren's eyes pierced through Jaune, as if he were mentally strangling him. Was he really jealous? Did the blond start some sort of grudge to him? Whatever the case was, there was no hiding it from anyone. Everyone else could read the situation clearly and the next few words that would come out of the blond's mouth would determine his fate.

"We're dating," he answered.

Ren, overtaken by a fleet of emotions jumped at his so called friend, immediately trying to now, physically strangle him into submission. The women jumped off their seats and hesitated for the time being. In shock and in awe, all they could do was watch.

After the moment had set in, Pyrrha was the first to move, stopping the one sided bullying and separating the two. Weiss held Jaune back, while Nora held her best friend still.

"Calm down, you two," the redhead demanded.

"I'm just as angry as you are Ren, but killing Jaune won't solve anything!"

"D-Did you say that Weiss?" Ruby asked curiously.

"O-O-Of course I did! I think we should all get along here! That's all," she quickly rebuttled.

"Weiss, if you like him just say so," the belladonna added.

Yang looked around to see everyone's face. Everything seemed to be following the set path she had began, but she couldn't help but feel that something was indeed, very off.

"Fine, I do!" the white mistress yelled.

"Then I like Jaune too. I want a fair shot at it," Ruby followed.

"Hold on, Jaune is mine. We're dating remember?"

"I'm the nice and quirky girl for him," Pyrrha added.

Directly after the line, the redhead whispered to Ren, prompting the asian to smile at Jaune.

"I'm sorry ladies, but you'll have to do better than that!"

Yang, caught up in the heat of the moment, had disappeared into somewhere in the deep recesses of the library. The rest of the group began to chuckle, noticing that the mastermind of the devious plot had disappeared.

"That was really good," Jaune laughed out, wiping off a tear. "But man, Ren, you were really strangling me there! I could have died!"

"I was trying to sell it. Yang is no fool, she wouldn't believe a halfhearted strike."

"Serves my dearest sister right!" Ruby pouted, crossing her arms. "She needs milk more than me, if she ever wants to grow up!"

"I'm glad you told us the truth, Jaune," Pyrrha complimented the lad, "See? There are some good traits about you," she ended with a grin.

"Hey, listen! Everyone, I'm sorry about what's happened the past couple days," the blond wholeheartedly began to apologize. "Sure I can blame it on bad luck and Yang's schemes, but at the end of the day, I fueled all of it. It's my fault. I had all this macho stuff in my head. Let's just start over and have fun here at Beacon, okay?"

The hiding blonde girl, hopped from underneath one of the tables to let her presence be known. She slowly walked to the group, rubbing the back of her head in embarrassment. She knew that she had some apologizing and butt kissing to do. It was better to finish it now than later.

"Hey guys. If Jaune-y boy here is apologizing, then I'll be doing the same. He's just a little bit too easy to take advantage of, ya know?" she dryly let out.

"We know," the six, save Jaune, said in agreement.

"Wha-" the blond tried to make a quick inquiry.

"But I seriously apologize!"

The rest of their day, was spent playing the Remnant version of Risk as Jaune began to ruthlessly take over each and every kingdom, until Pyrrha came about that is. The group of friends shared many laughs and tears over the strategy game, strengthening their bonds and finally burying the hatchet to this little tale. Everything was starting to once again become normal in Beacon Academy.

Later that night, the two blondes met once more on the roof at Jaune's request.

"This is where it all started, ya jerk!" she said, being led by the boy.

While still facing the ledge, Jaune let out, "I'm gonna do it."

"Don't jump!" Yang panicked, grabbing him.

"No! Not that," he responded. "I meant asking one of them out on a date. I still want to, but this time I'll do it fairly."

"Which one?"
