"Professor Rowan! We have just received four letters from children who are willing to join our research of the Sinnoh Pokemon!" A professor in a white coat announced waving the papers in the air.

Professor Rowan who was sitting in an armchair, stopped what he was doing and faced the scientist with a stern look on his face, the scientist backed away, a bit unsettled by the frown on the Professor's face.

Professor Rowan went back to his desk, but held a hand out for the papers. The scientist smiled to himself and placed the envelopes into his hand. As Professor Rowan opened each letter, the Pikachu he used for the advert jumped onto his shoulder, getting a good look of the children on the papers. Professor Rowan sat there, reading their forms and rereading them again, he looked up the reports, that the school given them.

Professor Rowan didn't like the idea of using an advert to find children who was up to the idea of journeying through the Sinnoh Region, and to help him collecting data of the Pokemon. But everyone in the Sinnoh Region already had their own Pokémon and were either all ready on their adventure through Sinnoh or would rather stay at home with their Pokemon and keep them as pets. So Professor Rowan had to think outside of the box here and had an idea that kids from the normal world had absolutely no Pokemon or knew what they were, or knew that they existed and thought that they should ask kids from there. But trying to get the news out there was tricky, so a scientist suggested that they should campaign it as an advert.

Professor Rowan looked again at the four children. He wasn't quite sure what to make of them. They just looked like plain, ordinary kids. But when he looked into their eyes. Their eyes were something else. It showed who they really were inside. Despite being from the same neighbourhood, each one of them had different personalities. Everyone of them had many different reasons of coming here. Everyone of them had passion. And bravery. Both important things to have before starting a journey.

"Dr Daniel, You may stop that advert now, I believe we have the right children in our hands." He said, and he put the forms into a drawer to keep for later.

"Of coarse sir. But may I say that we only have three starter Pokemon, one of the children wouldn't be able to come." Said the scientist, looking into the corner of his eye, where three shiny Poke balls sat at a desk.

"No need. We can easily find a perfect partner for one of them. You never know, maybe they can find it themselves" Says Professor Rowan. He then became quiet, thinking hard about something. "Oh yes, Dr Daniel, please can you get Noctowl for me? I need to send someone some mail"

"Right away Professor!" Said the scientist as he went off to collect the Noctowl.

"I won't let Lily get out of this opportunely, defiantly when I would need her help with the new trainers." Sighed Professor Rowan.

Pikachu happily agreed.

Not that far away in a town called Twinleaf, a girl called Lily was fast asleep in her own cosy bed, with only her blonde head showing. A Yanma was sleeping in a hammock hanging from the ceiling and a Wooper was asleep on a chair by the window. Lily's room was a little untidy with a few clothes on the floor and DVDs piled along the floor near her small TV. The sun was streaming through the yellow curtains making the small room glow with pride and made the room look more peaceful.

Tap. Tap.

Wooper was woken up by a noise. Although only just woken up, he couldn't figure out where the noise was coming from. Wooper's eyes opened and closed, opened and closed and continued this stage as he tried to wake himself up. He yawned and looked around to see if anything in the room made that noise. But Wooper couldn't see anything what could of made such a noise.

Tap. Tap. Tap.

There it was again! Wooper looked back at the window. It came from the window? Wooper called up to the Yanma in the hammock. Yanma's wings twitched, but it didn't do anything else. Wooper was going to call out to Yanma again, when a women glided into the room, as if on skates. She was slim and looked young for her age. She wore a pale, pink dress what looked like it's seen better days. It was also quite dirty at the bottom, due to her natural skills in the garden. Her hair colour matched her daughters, but was more messy and like a hay stack that grew to her thighs, though it looked a dread to brush. She had a warm smile spread on her face.

"Honey! It's time for you to get up! You don't want to laze about in bed on such a wonderful day!" She went over to the window, and opened the curtains. No awareness that a Pokemon was outside of the window, as she spun round on her heels when she heard her daughter groan in bed. She came to her daughters side and in a sing-song voice. "Get up sleepy head! It's way past noon!"

The only way her mother knew to get her up was to push her daughter out of bed. So she started to push her off. Her daughter fell and laid in a crumbled heap with her cover and pillow falling with her on the floor. Yanma was awake now and him and Wooper raced to Lily's side. Lily took the covers away from her face, she was tired, and tired of this routine happening to her every single morning. "Mom, I doubt it's past noon."

Her mother grinned at her. "Well, it's getting there...oh!"

Throughout the commotion, the birds tapping had become frantic and much faster. Lily's mother went over to the window and put her hand up to her mouth to stop herself laughing."Lily? Did you notice you had a guest?" She opened the windows out towards her and the tapping stopped. Lily stood up, with Wooper in her hands and Yanma holding onto her shoulder. The Noctowl was, a little peeved. But didn't show it. It had a letter strapped to its leg. He waited patiently as the mother got it off, once it's delivery was done, it flew off, leaving some feathers as a leaving present. "It has a letter for you!"

She gave Lily the envelope and Lily turned the letter around in her hand, curious to who it was from. On the back it had a wax stamp. There was initials in the wax. P.R. Lily gasped. Professor Rowan! She tore the wax off with her tender nails and tore the envelope. She read the letter inside. At first she was confused, then stared at the paper in her hands, stunned.

"What is it Lily?" Her mother asked, taking the letter and reading it herself. A smile spread across her face. "Oh my! Professor Rowan wants you to start your journey! That's brilliant Lily! I always knew you would start your journey one day!"

Her mother twirled out of the room and Lily fell on her bed with beautiflys in her stomach. She didn't want to start her adventure. It was all too much for her to take in. But her Pokemon looked happy, Wooper was bouncing on the bed while Yanma was flying around and around in circles making Lily dizzy as she watched it. Then her mother came back holding a old kakadu bag. It was a light brown colour, or beige. It had brown leather straps with metal buckles and was covered with a snap down flap. The canvas handles were leather and it had a leather handle at the top. It had two extra storage pockets at the sides and one more storage pocket at the front. The bag had green leaves knitted onto the bag, the leaves have gone a light green colour from oldness.

"Here!" She held out the bag to her daughter.

"What is it?"

"Oh Silly! This is a kakadu bag! I had it when I was young! I stitched those leaves on it myself! I was quite good at sewing when I was younger." She placed the bag in her daughter's hands and sighed. "But I never came to use it."

"Why not? You did go on your journey didn't you?" Her daughter was now curious. Her mother always fussed over a journey of a lifetime. That Lily should have a fun time with her Pokemon. But now, she's finding out if her mother ever went on one. Her mother shock her head sadly.

"I never got a chance dear. That's why you have to take the journey for me. Experience something great, and of course tell your mother all about it!" She winked at her daughter. Then went over to Lily's closet to look for clothes. Lily sighed.

"Fine. I guess it won't be that bad."

"That's my girl!" Her mother said delighted, putting some clothes in the bag.

Lily, her Pokemon and her mother stood in the doorway. Her mother had added a dairy, so she wouldn't forget anything in the day. Her ID card, just in case and a few potions and poke balls. Her mother held onto Lily's arm in a comforting way while Lily looked at her mother sadly.

"Enjoy yourself, okay?" Was all her mother said. A quick kiss on the forehead and she pushed Lily lightly to get her started. Lily looked back at her mother and waved. She saw her mother's Oddish, wildly jumping around and happy that she wouldn't have to deal with Liliy's Pokemon anymore.

Lily began walking away, to the exit of Twinleaf Town, Wooper was walking beside her while Yanma was on her shoulder. Lily sighed to herself. She never planned to leave her home, ever. But when watching her Pokemon, she knew that this was the right thing to do. They were happy. And that made her happy. She walked out of the town and turned to the long grass near her. This is where you usually find Pokemon. In that light green grass, that scratches your legs as you walk through it. She shuddered when she took her first step into it, flinching when she thought she heard something to her left. She marched through the grass as quick as she could, ignoring the boys sniggering behind her.

A high pitched squeal startled Lily as a small figure darted out in front of her. Lily yelped and protected her head.

"Wooper quickly! Water gun!"

She shut her eyes tightly as the battle began. She heard the sudden burst of water as it hit it's target. The gargle and fluttering sounds echoed through her head as she sat on the ground, ignoring the whole scene before her. A buzzing of wings gently swayed over to Lily and a heavy body sat on her head. Lily looked up and smiled at Yanma. Wooper hopped over to her as she got up.

"Thanks Wooper!" Wooper made a sound of delight and they were quickly on their way.

Other than that attack from Starly, the walk to Sandgem Town was fairly quick and peaceful. After bowing politely to the Pokemart Saleman, Lily happily set off to the entrance of Sandgem Town. Just like back at Lily's little home, Sandgem Town was a small town and didn't contain as much as any other big towns like Jublife City or Hearthome City. All it really contained was Professor Rowan's laboratory and a few villagers and a beach.

I guess the professor wouldn't mind if I go check out the beach...

They all went over to the beach for a little while, just to check on the waves. Wooper happily ran over to the waves and jumped in. Lily and Yanma laughed and sat on the sand. Lily looked up the sky. It was a pale, cherry pink and set upon the white fluffy clouds. Lily had just realised how long it had taken her to get through Route 201. The walk was very long, now that Lily thought about it. I guess this is the tie of adventure that mother wanted...

"Lily!?" A gruff voice interrupted Lily and her thoughts as she glanced behind her and noticed the white coat who stood there. Her eyes brightened and a smile spread across her face.

"Professor Rowan!" Lily cried out, as she ran at him for a hug. He ruffled her hair as she did so.

"Good to see you sprouting tall, just like a Bellsprout!" Lily gazed up at him.

"What's a Bellsprout?" She asked, he patted her back softly.

"That's not important at the moment. For now, we have preparations to finish." They walked away from the beach with Lily's Pokemon trailing behind them.

Professor Rowan was very known by Lily and her mother, as Rowan and Lily's mother were very close friends. Due to this, Professor Rowan was like a father to Lily in a way and cared for her like a daughter of his own. Rowan had even taught a few things to Lily for her two Pokemon, so they can get stronger.

"So, I don't really understand why you called for me now Professor Rowan. What's so special that we have to start at this moment?"

"Ah, well the letter didn't really give much description to what you are needed for. You see..."Professor Rowan continued as they entered the lab. "In our world, everyone already has a Pokemon and I still have much data to collect about Pokemon and I needed more people to help me collect data. So we thought that the people outside our world will be willing to help me."

"You mean the people who never knew Pokemon existed?" Pondered Lily out loud. Rowan nodded with a stern look on his face. "Wow, there lives must suck."

Ignoring the remark, Rowan continued. "We finally have found some children who want to help us, but as you said they don't know anything about Pokemon, which comes down to you. You must teach them everything you know about Pokemon." Lily gaped at him in astonishment.

"What!? No way! I can't do that! Do I look like a teacher to you?"

"You are the only one I trust that can lead these kids onto something big in their lives. What more, you be able to travel with them, just in case they need any help. You have to understand that some things are better to do, rather than coped up indoors all day. You are special Lily, and I was hoping you find out more about yourself in this adventure."

Lily gaped at him once more. When she thought about the adventure now, it looked way to massive for her to accomplish. She looked over at her Pokemon. There eyes were all filled with joy for once and now it was all gone buy their argument. Lily sighed in defeat. She was just too nice. "Fine. I guess I can help out."

Rowan smiled down at her. "Good, now before they get here come and see the Pokemon they will get."

They walked over by a table with three Pokemon happily sitting there. One was a turtle Pokemon, Turtwig the grass type. A little fire monkey by the name of Chimchar and a Penguin Pokemon called Piplup, a water type. Lily stroked Turtwig on jaw making it happily blush.

"How many are coming?" She asked, rubbing Pikachu on its forehead.

"Four in total." Lily looked back at the three Pokemon. She frowned. Before she could speak up, Rowan stopped her.

"I know there's only four, but I believe it least one of them can find a partner by themselves." Lily nodded.

All of a sudden they heard the door open with a rush of energy. Lily smirked to herself. "Well isn't that going to be interesting!?"

The ending took longer than planned, I was going to add the part where they are all together and get their Pokemon, but that would be too long for the chapter. I hoped you enjoyed this. What do you think about Lily? Yes, no? Change her attitude? Wanna know her age, well you ain't gonna ever find out that!
